Easy to install, working well so far.
Installed this Black Magic 180 fan on my 1979 Ford F150 with a Champion aftermarket radiator. Replaced a stock fan with no clutch and no shroud. This is a farm truck I bought to pull trailers and do fence work on a mountain farm. So lots of starting, stopping, idling, and pulling. Even with a shroud on, the stock set-up would get hot. This electric fan seems to have done the trick. The included brackets worked on my radiator (must provide your own screws for the radiator side of the bracket). The included wiring was enough to do the job. I chose to wire mine so it can run after the engine is cut off, though there are instructions to wire to your ignition or a manual switch also. Has a spot to wire in your A/C to trigger it if you have A/C. Followed the instructions carefully, it was about a 2.5 hour job, off and on over an afternoon. Truck feels like it has more power (no fan blades bolted to it anymore). The fan kicks on and the motor sticks at the set temp. I have been playing with the control knob for the fan to get a good balance between running temp and how long the fan runs after I cut the truck off (right now about 5-7 minutes). The fan is a bit loud. With the windows down, I can pick out the sound even with the motor running and its a rumbly old 6.6L V8. Truck is noisy already, so who cares. Overall this thing was easy to install, and does what it says. A cool truck is a happy truck.

A year later and nothing but high Praise from this Purchase
One of the best upgrades for an off road recovery vehicle and for Toy hauler towing, It installs easily as long as you have some basic customization knowledge and works flawlessly... It has increase my horse Power output under loads while also lowering my towing and 4x4 temps by at least 20 degrees over the stock 30lb fan.... I can't rave enough about this fans quality, construction and usefulness....Pictures shown are installed my 1998 Durango with a 6 inch lift that I use for offload recovery and hauling a camper/toy hauler into barren, hard to reach areas....I waited a year for the review just to see how well it performed under the harsh condition I would force it to endure and it more than met my expectations...

Jeep CJ7 cooling system success
Bought this for my CJ7. I transplanted a 4.0HO into it and didn't care for the mechanical/electric fan setup. I put a Flexalite 160 on my other CJ7 with a V8 and really liked it. This fan was a success also. It fit nearly perfect behind the stock radiator and the control module works nicely. I had to modify the brackets they sent, but they sent 2 different styles, so you have plenty to choose. All hardware, heavy duty 10gauge wiring was included. I didn't need anything else. It keeps my engine at 190 degrees F and I can adjust it for summer and winter temperatures, or wheeling. I also must mention the HP I got back by getting rid of the the mechanical fan completely; the engine revs up better.

or recommend this product or manufacturer
Assembled and wired, cut and placed into my truck to check for fitment, and functionality. Worked in mid summer high heat for about 3 months. It was odd to see it turn on at my temperature I set, but only at full blast. I specifically sought out this electric fan to help alleviate future problems... In the description per the manufacturer, this is a variable speed fan which is what I paid for and wanted due to electrical load problems. But under further use and inspection, this fan controller only supports 1 speed, on, and off. Fan no longer operational, and I'm a disgruntled customer. Will not buy, further support, or recommend this product or manufacturer.

Good Buy
Product was on my Chevy Colorado for over a year and did not disappoint. Cools extremely well and does what it is supposed too. Was a lot cheaper when I purchased I believe. The only problem I had is it would cool even when the truck was shut off for 15 minutes. Never drained the battery but it may have just been a wiring error on my part. Would definitely recommend.

Very nice and very happy with purchase for my '94 F-150 (covers 80% of radiator surface with no problems)
I really like this fan. It isn't an exact fit, but it pulls plenty of air through the radiator and condenser. The only thing that I would say, would be that it needs a timer delay between when the fan comes on, and goes off......so that if the A/C cycles when using defrost, or running A/C when it's cool outside, but humid, the fan isn't constantly being cycled off and on exactly as the A/C compressor is.....yes I realize that it's not normal to cycle too much, if at all...meaning I'm running a bit low on freon. However, I like running a tad low, as I get better cooling that way....just so long as I don't wear out my compressor doing so.This thing has a gasket that forms a wonderful seal between it, and the radiator. If I could have, I would have made this a pusher, in front of my condenser, but didn't have room. Since I have a double core radiator (not factory standard), there is a bit more restriction, so less air is pulled (in the current configuration) through the radiator and condenser. But it still works well, just not perfect....sitting in 100 degree traffic for too long, and my A/C system wants to build up too much head pressure. I know this sounds like restriction in the system, but it's not.....all brand new components, and it still does this....Anyway, this is a very nice fan that most factory alternators can support, without having to upgrade to a higher output alt, and/or battery.

Much quieter than the stock mechanical fan!
I would have given it 5 stars but it required a lot of fabrication of the brackets to fit my 2003 Dodge Dakota with a 4.7L engine. It is much quieter than the stock mechanical fan. Which was my main purpose for installing the Flex-a-lite 180. Plenty of wire and connectors were supplied but I used weatherproof connectors and heat shrink on all the splices. It works great but only has been installed for 3 weeks. I will update if something happens. The fan has not been tested in extreme weather yet. Current weather in Seattle has been 45 to 75 degrees F.

It's good so far
I like the construction and completeness of this product. My vehicle is still in the build stage and I will update when I have tested everything out.
