SUN LABORATORIES Self Tanning Lotion Tan Overnight - Medium (8 oz)

I had been doing spray tanning for awhile but when I canceled my tanning membership, I started researching products that would give me that same natural color and even application. I had actually purchased sunlit product before, so I knew their products worked. This is a great value in my opinion for the 32 oz. bottle. I was paying the same amount every month for a spray-tanning membership, as one bottle of this lotions costs, which easily lasts me 6 months when used regularly.Ok, for starters...this stuff smells amazing. Like almond oil which is a scent I love. SO you don't get the typical after smell you get with most tanning lotions/spray tan products.The color is AMAZING! It is so natural, and gives you that deep brown color we all desire. Not a hint of orange anywhere. I feel like the lotion does give you some instant color, but it fully develops in around 8hrs like most spray tanning products. This is different from tanning lotions and foams you buy at the store because the color in those products can take awhile build to the color you really want. With Sub Labs, I am able to achieve the color I want in 2 applications if I'm totally white, and have zero natural color. I have really fair skin, and I like the medium bronze look. Once you achieve the color you want, I'd say you only need to re-apply 1-2 times per week tops depending on how often you shower or are in the water.NOTE: shower before applying this product, exfoliate and shave for best results. The heat from the shower opens your pores to allow for better absorption of the product, and exfoliation ensures you get an even application.Next, the application is simple, just apply in to your body in an even circular motion like you would body lotion. I'd recommend wearing gloves which are provided with the product, because this stuff will STAIN your hands!!! Moving on...a little goes along way with this stuff! Use less to start, and you can always apply more once it has absorbed. I'd suggest applying a thin layer of regular hand/body lotion to your knuckles, knees, and elbows since those areas are typically dryer, and will hold on to the solution and leave you with an uneven look which no one wants. Overall this tanning lotion absorbs quickly and leaves me with a streak free professional looking application.Lastly, apply this lotion at night before you go to bed, so when you wake up you can rinse off any residual product. This also gives the color time to develop. If you don't do this, the product will end up on your clothes and sheets. Not to worry though, if you absolutely must apply it in the morning and a little rubs off on your clothes, it washes right out. I haven't had an issue yet with SunLabs not washing out of any piece of clothing or bedding.Overall, this stuff is amazing!

Let me preface this by saying I'm the whitest white person in the history of white people. Did you ever see that movie "Powder' from the 90's? That was my nickname in high school. I never tan. I go from Michael Jackson-white to roasted pig red. Even in the tanning booth. I tried tanning a couple of times and I basically just got pink so I gave up. I've tried a few tanning lotions and for the most part they just look orange.I have to say, this is the first product I've ever used where the color is actually tan and somewhat natural looking. I was kind of shocked. Usually, if I do buy a tanning lotion, I get the lightest version and then have to mix it with my own lotion before putting it on because even 'light' is a jarring difference on my skin.I tried this on the recommendation of a YouTube beauty guru who was about as light as I am and couldn't believe how well it worked for her. So I figured I'd give it a go. I have to agree... fantastic results. Best fake tanner I've personally ever tried. It was subtle enough to just give a hint of color but enough tan to notice the difference. And it gets darker the more you use it. But I didn't want to look super tan... I think that it's strange to go from white to super tan all in one day. So I use it twice a week just to keep the sun-kissed look and that's plenty for me. Again... I'm very pale so it works for me. I can't speak for anyone with a different skin coloring. And if you ARE looking for super-tan results, I'd rec using the dark version.I also have to say it actually smells okay! I'm used to that disgusting fake-tan smell, and this does have a bit of a smell to it, but it's not bad at all. I actually kind of like it.You have to make sure to apply it evenly, as with any self-tanner, otherwise you'll see streaks. And one thing I did notice is that you have to wash your hands really, really well. Or use a glove. I've used self-tanners before so of course I know you have to wash your hands afterward but this turns the palms of my hands a very dark orangey color almost immediately. Maybe it's some weird reaction I alone have, but I did notice it enough to mention it here. In fact, if you use your bare hands, I'd recommend having a brush of some kind nearby to help scrub it off with soap and hot water. It comes off, so don't worry, but I just noticed how weird it looked and I had to wash my hands twice the first time I used it because it was so dark.I'm really happy with my results. I would recommend the medium to anyone who's nervous about trying self tanner. Usually I would choose a 'light' version, but medium was perfect, even for me!
