Budding scientists will love!
This thing is so great! We have a little scientist in the house and she loves to catch bugs! The design is easy to understand and figure out. She loves to detach the front with the magnifying glass to inspect her specimin and then release it outdoors! Not a powerful suction motor though. Won't suck up anything large.

Vacuum could use a bit more suction
My son has a lot of fun with this kit

What you would expect
So, people complaining about the suction, I think, are expecting a bit much. Your not going to vacuum the floor with this thing, but it does work picking up bugs. It was a Christmas gift and here in Indiana, bugs are sparse this time a year. We found a young fly and was able to catch it with ease. As for the accessories with the suction gun, my 3 yr old loved em. Seriously, if you know of a little one that likes bugs, this is a good kit/gift to get. Also, I only paid like 17 bucks. So, value for money was there for me.

Perfect for bug loving little ones!
I ordered this for my daughter as a birthday gift and she absolutely loved it! With a creek running through our backyard, we have plenty of creepy crawlies for her to suck up and observe. The kit comes with a pincher-picker-upper which is best used on already dead bugs, a small net, observation container (that snaps tight and doesn't let the bugs out!), and vacuum. The vacuum has gentle suction that did not injure any insects or spiders we sucked up. Be ready to move fast closing the flap that keeps the bugs in the suction canister! This has provided hours of entertainment for my budding entomologist!

Good but low suction power
The suction power on the bug catcher barely works to catch anything. Otherwise, it’s been a lot of funFor my two boys this summer

Not worth it for less than a day of use
Bug vacuum burned up within the first day. My son thought the batteries were dead so we replaced them. It worked for a little bit longer and started to smell like burning plastic. He took the batteries out and they were extremely hot to the touch. This was all within the first day of him opening and using it. Total disappointment. We are returning it to buy another brand because apparently you get what you pay for. On the positive side, the accessories were cool. He liked the container and net that came with it.

Fun toy with missing parts
Tweezers were not in the package. Design is ok with some peculiar portions, such as, a plastic butterfly stuck inside the blower which blocks the bugs from coming in. No way to take it out of the blower. Ok toy

Catch and see my bug
Great for capturing some bugs. Would be better is it had more suction. We were able to catch ants and gnats but not enough power to go after flies. Recommend for age 3 and above.
