Great socks: warm (but not too warm), comfortable, and not itchy. I think the warmth level is good for most of the year. Spending time outside on hot days or very cold days you would want something else.Definitely a great deal for this high percentage of merino wool at this price.Only one problem, and it's my fault for not looking in the description, is that they fall down a bit. The description clearly says that it has no elastic (which is why the socks can be a high % merino). I still plan on buying some more, so it's not a big problem.On the fit: I wear shoes somewhere between size 9-10. If I leave the socks a bit loose, the heel sit right on my heel. If I pull the socks tight, the heel starts coming up my ankle. So for size 9-12, you should be all right. For size 8-9, you may want to try a pair first before you put in a big order.

Let me start by saying I am very particular about how socks fit. Many that say non-binding are too tight for my comfort. These 96% merino wool non-binding casual socks are truly non-binding. They don't leave marks on my legs. And they stay put and don't slouch. They wash and wear well. I initially was washing in cold water and hanging them to dry. A few pairs got accidentally mixed up in with the dryer stuff. They came out just fine and now I just wash and dry all of them. Also, to me, they are more of a dress sock than a casual sock. They are a finer fabric, not thick.Overall, I am very pleased with these socks. I have been gradually replacing all my dress socks with them.

These socks were the softest I ever wore at night at the house only..to keep feet warm.However they last two months even washing in a lingerie bag..they get holes in the heels.The do have a strong smell when arriving due to the wool and packaging .. I soaked them infragrance free detergent in a bucket for two days, then rinsed well. I did not mind doing that because the wool has a smell and the socks felt so wonderful! They just cost too. much to have holes in them with in two months of house wear only.

I received this order promptly and although I haven't worn them yet they seem nice. They feel soft and the color and thickness are as expected and are accurately represented on Amazon.What is really strange though is that although it is a 3-pack Large, to fit men's size 8-12, and come pre-packed in a sealed bag, they are 3 different sizes.And the sizes are off by a good margin too; more than you would expect from manufacturing tolerances.It seems like it is a "sampler" pack with a Small, Medium and Large included.See the attached photo's for proof. I actually waited 24 hours before making these pics to allow them to recover from any possible packing stretch and did not try them on or wash them first.The picture is exactly how they were.Also: the packaging mentions a "seamless toe for added comfort".While I am not sure how you would manufacture a "seamless toe" I do know that toe-seams are one of the crucial area's of any sock: a thick seam in the toe area is extremely uncomfortable and will make a sock basically un-wearable.While I have seen worse, it is a bit of a stretch to claim these are "seamless" like the second attached photo shows, .So time will tell if there are even wearable at all.Note: now that I look at the picture on Amazon it actually looks like 3 different sizes! But I am sure that was not intentional!

UPDATE:6 months in, the socks have lost some of their elasticity (gotten floppy) and two of them developed holes in the heels. Granted, I did wear them a lot, and I spent over a month overseas with only 2 pairs of these, so they wore out quicker than they would have if I rotated them with more socks. Maybe during normal use they'd last a year or so, we'll see when I lose my last pair.Original Review:I love these socks. Great for everyday. I've been rotating two pairs of these pretty much every day since I bought them 3 months ago, with the rare exception when I need to wear dress socks. (That happened maybe twice in that period.) They develop no odor (I'll wear each pair almost a week before switching or washing- I've been traveling) They don't get swampy at all like cotton socks do.They're not as thick as some other wool socks, so if you're looking for something to keep your feet warm in the cold, go for something else for that, but ALSO buy these for any other situation, when those thick ones would be too thick. The grey ones go great with jeans, and most other pants I have.

Comfy, warm, and comfortabe, even though I am sensitive to wool.
