This worked for me
When I discovered that my new solix would not display the water depth when the boat was moving at more than 10 MPH hummingbird told me I needed this Y cable and a seperate 2D transducer. This proved to be the correct solution for me. One connection is for the original transducer and the other leg is for the 2D transducer. The legs are marked with which is which.

Make the correct connection.
I didn't have on my reading glasses and connected the transducers the wrong sides of this Y cable. I swapped them and everything worked perfect. They are labeled, one connection is for the transducer with side scan and down imaging and the other connection is for the transducer with 2d.

Useless - at least for my needs. Now it sits coiled-up on the console.
I purchased this thinking I could split between the Sonar Transducer built inside my trolling motor and the main transducer at the stern, and BOTH to communicate at my Solix unit. When using the Trolling motor I wanted to use the trolling motor's transducer for "2D image" sonar at the same time I wanted to use the stern's transducer for "Side Imaging" and/or "Down Imaging".WRONG - it wouldn't work. When connected to the trolling motor (using the splitter cable) the trolling motor 2D would work; BUT the Side Imaging & Down imaging for the sterns transducer did NOT. That transducer wouldn't even display anything. Same applied if I had my trolling motor in the "stow" position. The stern's 2D image would not display from the stern.Called support a few times; finally got through. They told me make sure the setup is correct in the transducer settings menu. It was setup correctly, how they suggested (setting each transducer to the source of 2d Sonor & S.I. D.I.) . And still the same results, what a waste. You figure this would've automatically detected the trolling motor for 2D (being that's what was installed in the Minn kota) & the stern for S.I. & D.I. Now it just sits coiled up, unless if I ONLY want to see the (front) Minn kota motor's transducer 2D image on my Solix.
