this is a great book to enthuse that love of math more
If your child loves maths, this is a great book to enthuse that love of math more. My 4yo son was very entertained by it and I think he is inspired to do more maths. The child in the book was home educated in his primary school years so this may prompt some questioning. He grew up to be less knowledgeable about self-care, something I definitely talk at great length with my son so there is no expectation of doing similar thing. However overall it is a fun story about the boy who loved maths (ok... math ;))

Inspiring book
This book gives a reasonably accurate, albeit abbreviated, biography of a great mathematician. It presents him as a real person with multiple interests and charming eccentricity. I'm amazed at how clearly and succinctly the information about Erdos's life was presented. Great for kids.

Fun for children and adults
A really well written book with lovely drawings. The author clearly did her homework. The afterword details all the details hidden in the book in case you missed them. It's a lovely story of Paul's life, as well as talking about numbers and maths in a way that should spark interest in children of the right age (probably somewhere about 4 and up I would think, though I'm reading this to my 2 year old and she seems to enjoy it though the maths aspect is lost on her)My only gripe is that the author is (I assume) American, so there's continual use of the word 'math' not 'maths'. And that's the only complaint I can make.

Great book for anyone, especially great for math lovers
I bought this book for my 7 year old son who is loves math. I love how it talks about how Paul Erdos was absolutely amazing at math but couldn't butter his own bread. I think it is a good reminder for kids that no one is good at everything. I also liked that it used a lot of numbers and talks about prime numbers and negative numbers. My son thought it was really fun to learn about some of these math concepts he hasn't learned in school yet. Even thought this book contains math it is very much a story book, some math books that I looked at were more like a workbook but this is not. It has great colorful illustrations . It would be a great book for any child whether they like math or not but is especially fun for kids with a knack for math.

Fantastic book!
Our sons, 5 and 6, love it and talk a lot about prime numbers now! Beautiful illustrations, well written, warm story. Great for gifted children to make them feel less alone.

I love this book
This is great. I'm happy it doesn't mention his drug use, that would have been an awkward conversation with my own little epsilon... But it's a great way to introduce brilliant minds to our future, and to help stop the fear of mathematics spreading.
