FURminator deShedding Tool for Cats

I usually don't write reviews but I felt compelled to write a review because the furminator works really well and is worth the money! I have a 16 pound short haired orange cat so I bought the large. My cat Mango actually enjoyed the combing and after a few minutes, I hand a very large handful of hair to leave out for the birds for their nests. The furminator collects a ton of hair and with one button release, the fur comes out easily. You won't regret this purchase!

Before buying my own I used the FURminator several times at a friend's house to brush their cats. I was amazed at how much fur was coming off of the cat in just a few brush strokes. And pulling the hair off of the brush to throw away was so easy.I then bought one for myself for my cats and have not been disappointed. I also own a wire brush and a mitten brush and they do good on their own. However, I can always get more hair off of the cats using the FURminator.Tips: You do not have to apply any pressure when using this brush. If you do you might pull off more fur then intended and might wind up thinning out parts of your cats fur.

I never thought I would spend this much on a brush but it is worth it! My sister had one for her cats and influenced me after I saw how effective it was. My cat does get easily over-sensitized with this so I just use it very briefly about twice a week with him since he can only tolerate it in small doses. It definitely gets up a lot of extra fur, especially the layers underneath. I feel this has helped with his overall shedding and I think he gets less hairballs now that we have been using it!

I wish my vet had told me about this brush sooner. I have two 16.5 year old cats who don’t groom much anymore and one in particular has started developing matted fur. They are short haired cats. I have purchased many brushes over the years and recently bought a cat clipper which one of them did not enjoy. My furminator arrived today and it is fantastic! I can’t believe how much fur came off my cat! It’s like a miracle! I listened to other reviewers and went with the large version for my 12.5 lb kitties. This is going to be a game changer.
