wordy.
I really wanted to love this book. I love the idea of the book, and I love the general jist and points she make however the writing was a little too creative for me at times. There is only so much "funny" I can read until it starts to get a bit annoying. The attempt at making every section really "funny" or engaging was at times, just over kill. If it had been toned down, this book would be half as long! still a half decent read, although I can not finish it. Update: sadly the authors political statements are a total turn off

Brilliant read! Just buy it!
I just loved this book. The title grabbed me straight away. It’s such a great read. Its so well written. Full of really useful stuff. It took me a while to read because there is just so much stuff to absorb. It’s really helped me over the last month (during lockdown) and I have incorporated quite a few things from the book into my daily life. I think it will be a book that I read again and again. Well worth the money.

Really just spot on stuff. Loved the audio book and wanted to get my hands on the real thing because of the lists and to make notes in it, so got it shipped to Australia. So great.

such piercing insights and openness
Tara writes from the heart. The book shares both very personal and intimate details of her childhood struggle combined with a compendium of ways to overcome them. The results are engaging and practical. She paints a colourful picture of describing ways one should love oneself, describes her solo dinner playing Ella Fitzgerald, the way she adds small things to her bath to treat herself, provides specifically journaling guidance which combines both personal details and the best advice found in things like the Artists' Way. She seems to have a photographic memory of her childhhood and shares endless pain from how she became embarrassed about her body, and the painful results of herr upbringing. It's even more powerful knowing how she succeeded so well in the television industry with all of this stuff lurking beneath the surface. The book combines intimate sharing, self-help and observations of herself as a work in progress.
