It is short 20 years of National Geographic magazines!
I have been unable to use the collection so far. It won't play on my computer. My wife bought me this so she could throw all my old National Geogaraphic magazines out. Trouble is it only goes from 1888 till 2000. Where is the last 20+ years! They came in an old looking box that was damaged and looked like it was used already. All 4 feet on the box were broken off of it when I received it. I'm not happy with it. I need 20+ more years to complete this collection. I'm contemplating returning it like someone obviously already has done with the box that I got.

Dissappointed.
This set was not up to date which was supposed to be up to 2010, but was not.

Works, but you need to setup/run from a Virtual Machine
Works and a great deal in 2023, BUT first I had to install a virtual machine (VM) on my Windows 10 computer and run the product from within the VM. The VM can be created using free software from Oracle (Virtual Box) which will also need a Windows XP, 98, or 95. Personally, I purchased a factory sealed Windows XP installation dvd for $15 from a reseller. You can learn how to do this on YouTube or preferably you have a child or grandchild who in IT or an avid video gamer. Setting this up would most likely be second nature to them. The reason for this is the software was written in the 90s and is no longer supported by current Microsoft operating systems, but if your a retro gamer, this should be no problem.

Incompatible.
National Geographic's media vendor failed to keep up with OS portability for this product. Was advertised as compatible with Windows 98, which it was not. I have multiple Win 98 programs working on Windows 7 Pro. The packaging read Win 95... which wasn't compatible with Win 98 so the install program wouldn't work for the reader making this purchase useless. Sorry National Geographic, no donut on this one... very disappointed.

Very pretty, very nice - COMPLETELY UNUSABLE
Lovely box! What they aren't telling you, is that these disks are worthless on any machine running an operating system more advanced than Win95. And, NatGeo is not 'supporting' them any more. If you have this set, I suggest you toss the disks, scavenge the multi-disk cases and keep the box. Because unless you run really, really old machines, you aren't going to be able to do anything other than look at the .jpg images. The search function, etc, will not work and your computer will not run the programs.
