Absolutely great - and no battery needed!
Electronic remote switches with a battery are a dime a dozen. This one is really clever because the click of the switch generates a tiny pulse of electricity that sends the wireless signal to the plug-in receiver to turn the remote device on or off. I just pulled it out of the box, plugged a lamp into it, walked around clicking the remote switch, and it works perfectly, even from more than 50 feet away. For times when you are at the receiving end, there is also an on-off switch there. In the U.S., the remote switch should be mounted so the "on" click is at the top. The switch comes with sticky foam tape for mounting--I'll have a future update to this review to explain how to convert it to mounting with screws.Update: It's nice to have the switch loose, hanging on a nail, so you can occasionally take it from its normal home to another place in the room. I recommend using the foam tape and attaching it to a small camping mirror (such as Coghlan's Featherweight Mirror) that has a hole for the nail. After two months, the switch continues to work great. It takes just one touch 95% of the time. The only downside is that there is a slight flicker any time another nearby light switch is turned on or off--or at least that's the way it is in my house--so I have downgraded it to four stars. Still, all in all, great!

This is a toggle switch system, not a state switch system. Does not remember state.
In this review I refer to the switch assembly as the "switch", and the socket that it controls as the "relay".This switch system treats _any_ pulse from the switch as a signal to change the state (on or off) of the relay.** Thus there is no fixed "on" or "off" position on the switch. **If you cycle the switch too quickly, the relay misses the signal, and you have to move the switch to the other position to get the relay to change state. Also if the relay module loses power when in the "on" state, the module does not remember its state when power is restored. (This, IMHO, is a coding bug). This also will result in needing to flip the switch position to turn the relay on again. And, of course, if you use the button on the relay to change turn the relay on or off, the relay is now in a different state than the switch. This behavior is unlike that of common wall switches, and this may cause confusion among some users. This switch system _should_ come with a door-bell-type momentary switch -- then users might intuit the operating logic. (Push-On/Push-Off) But the fault of failing to remember the relay state across power outages remains. This switch system _might_ pair with push-button type transmitters using the same battery-free 433 mHz scheme. These are commonly found in wireless doorbell applications, including some "doggy doorbells".I knocked off a star for failing to remember the relay state across power outages (a genuine bug), and for not using a pushbutton switch.

Blocks second outlet!!!
First, this remote switch set is AWESOME & works so well, and never needs batteries and the range is amazing - I use several of them in different rooms & I can take the remote outside & to the edge of the back yard & it still works! The one star rating to hopefully get peoples attention about the one MAJOR flaw. The receiver plug blocks the second outlet outlet underneath it to the point where you can barely plug in the smallest, thinnest un-ground plug in the other outlet. So you're outta luck if you want to use the other plug with a grounded or regular size plug. The overall Receiver plug isn't that big & seems very well made - I don't see how the could overlook something like this? one plug that blocks both outlets... come on man!

So happy.
I am handicapped and needed a light switch easily accesabel from my chair. I was so disappointed in the first battery operated item I tried; often had to click it up to 50 times to get a response. So, that went into the round file and I ordered this one which came promptly. It installed so easily I was able to do it myself from my chair! I stuck the switch to the inside face of a drawer in the night stand beside my chair, so it takes up no room and I can reach it easily. And best of all, it works every time with ONE click! I highly recommend.

Wow, cool device
I needed to figure out a way to install a switch for a new garbage disposal (not a replacement). I had an outlet available under the sink area, but no easy way to run an electrical line to a switch. This solved the problem - I stuck the switch to the inside of the cabinet door under the sink, so all I have to do is open the cabinet door and hit the switch to activate the disposal. And no need to worry about replacing a battery in the future.
