VERY WELL MADE BUSHCRAFT KNIFE/SHEATH WORTH THE PURCHASE PRICE
This is one of the best bushcraft knives I own. The leather sheath (which includes a fire-starter rod and sharpening stone) is made of thick leather with quality stitching. I have large meat hooks for hands, and I can say the knife itself is still heavy in the hand with a very thick spine. The grip length is sufficient. You will need a leather belt of sidearm carry quality if you plan on securely carrying this weighty knife/sheath on your belt for any extended period of time. With a little creativity (and perhaps some molle straps with snaps), the sheath could also be attached to a backpack. This knife is clearly built to withstand harsh use and is well worth the purchase price. If you buy it, you will agree once you unpack it.If I was going on a 5-7 day backpacking trip (and I have been on many), where the weight and use of every item is considered, I would probably take a lighter knife/sheath. If I was forced to march into the wilderness with only 1 knife to last for the foreseeable future, I would take this knife/sheath. Make of that what you will.

Excellent knife for the money
Already put through the paces. Excellent construction and beautiful cocobolo handle that gets better with use and some linseed oil. Medium to large blade, Scandinavian grind perfect for an all around performer. It has held the edge well despite some medium usage. The jimp on the spine though unusual (hump), gives you versatility on the way you do your jimping, allowing you to exert some backward or forward traction without undue mangling of your thumb. A beautifully crafted sheath with multi position carry options (I love horizontal carry on my back), very good water stone and fire steel, make they package complete. The knife has a good, heavy weight to it and has great balance.Recommended without reservations

Heavy duty blade, I would recommend it.
I really love the weight and feel of this blade, it is well balanced and has a very sturdy build from top to bottom, I love the handle, and the figure grips on the top and bottom of the blade, I put in through the test this weekend in the mountains, was by my side the whole trip, It is heavy enough to chop wood almost like a hatchet, whittles wood good enough but is very bulky for any detail work, blade is not near as sharp out of the box as I would expect for the price you pay for it and the other then the price the only other reason I didn't give it a 5 star. The leather sheath is very well made, and the fire starter and stone are good enough for back up but would recommend others products as a primary source. Shipping was fast and on time thank you for that or it would have missed its trip this round.

This knife is a monster
The media could not be loaded. Weighing 16.6 oz and its 6.7-inch blade, this knife is a monster. Excellent craftsmanship, perfect finishes, ergonomic handle that adapts very well to M / L hands and has a terrifyingly sharp factory edge, all this makes this knife a perfect tool for survival. You could say that 16.6 oz plus the weight of the sheath is too heavy, but keep in mind that with this knife you will be able to chop 5 and 6 inch diameter trees, maybe thicker. You'll get an excellent quality leather sheath and the knife fits very tightly, is made of a very good quality leather, like all JEO-TEC sheaths and you can carry it low vertical, high vertical or scout horizontal mode. In the box, in addition to the knife and the sheath, you will find a ferrorod and a 700 grit wet stone. Highly recommended for those who like to carry just one tool on their adventures in the wild.

Great knife!
I am really impressed with the quality of this company. This is my second Jeotec and will not be my last. From feather boarding to battoning it through limbs, it does it all. Very agile for the size and the handle is perfect.Holds an edge and is razor sharp. The stone is a water stone and very good quality.

Questionable
Jeo-Tec has poor customer service. I had a few simple questions on my No. 55 and it was like pulling teeth to get answers from them. On top of that they really did not answer the questions. I received my knife with a feature card for a different knife. The finger choil is poorly designed. While the handle material is good the handle design and texture are poor. It does not fit the hand particularly well and is slippery - right out of the box. Also, I do not think the sheath is particularly well designed. There is room for substantial improvement.

1 Beautiful "Massive" Piece of Art
What can I say, except: " Exceptionalism, at it's finest- quality, artisan- made piece of art/ yet an important "tool"- to have in your tool bag/ or should I say- as "side armour", for either defense ( if need be ( let's hope not)/ or just out in the wild- enjoying nature, but needing to cut branches/ make tinder-for a fire, or "whatever" a really good knife is needed to do- this is it!! I own several Jeo-tec knives. Each 1 is unique is size, shape- but all are hand crafted to perfection. I have 1 other brand I really like/ but these Always keep me coming back. Thank- you for offering them, and making them so well made ( especially today)- but also so we as customers can afford them!! Well worth the money spent,!! ( Never stop the Quality, and reasonable price range- and you will always be a leader in Top knives!! )

Knife Blade Cuts Retaining Stap on Sheath When Removing
Nice knife, heavy blade, very sharp. I am not impressed with the sheath, as you insert or remove the knife, the sharp edge cuts the retaining strap. I have been very careful to not sever it but I am sure I will at some point. For the amount this knife cost, I expect all of the kinks to be worked out.
