Effective if it fits the lens
This simple diffuser fits on the lens, in front of a camera mounted speedlight to diffuse the direct flash on your macro or close subject. It is easy to slide onto the lens in most cases. It fit my Nikon 200mm f4 D macro fine and works well with it. On the other hand it won't fit my Sigma Art 40mm 1.4 lens as the lens barrel is just too big. You do lose about a stop of light, but it's worth it to soften the light without the use of a big cumbersome softbox. Highly recommended, particularly for macro photography.
