Well made
For those who gave this one star because they said the sheath is too big for the blade.....well, I'll simply point out they are wrong. The sheath for this knife is SUPPOSED to be larger because not only does the blade get covered by the sheath, but part of the handle is (again) SUPPOSED to go down into the sheath. It's made that way on purpose so the knife will be secured by the tension/friction of the inside of the sheath. If you look on the edges of the sheath you'll notice they aren't leather, but a thick, tough, foam with allows the blade to go in, without cutting the stitching, AND (again) holds the blade inside the sheath. For the money, this is an EXCELLENT knife and the steel if the real deal. I would purchase again.

Rough, needs lots of TLC.
The blade is good but nothing to brag about. Unsharpened. The fittings are damask and OK except they are deeply rusted just wherever they contact the handle. The handle seems to be rosewood and is good. General construction appears to be good. The Knife came in a box and was triple wrapped in plastic with added point protection. The knife handle and fitting were packed in some sort of heavy oil to prevent rust. The blade was clean. I had to use strong solvent twice to remove the packing oil from the handle and fittings. This knife will be added to several others in a rustic display, so the imperfections are OK for me. If you are looking for rustic this knife is great. You will need to spend time cleaning it before it can be handled at all. Not useful as a knife without a lot of work. The sheath was not made for this knife, it is way too large, so the knife just falls out.

Great product
So the knife is really nice in terms of quality. It came well oiled and is honestly stunning. My issue is the design of the sheath. It might be just something I’m not used to but the hilt of the dagger gets shoved down into the sheath part way. At first I thought the sheath didn’t fit but it’s just a different design than I’m used to. Both are high quality items though.

Very very nice and well worth the price
Beautiful blade and handle. Seems high quality, no shaky parts and everything is solid and heavy. The edge came sharp enough. Not razor sharp but that’s an easy fix if i want to. But as is it is sharp enough for anything you’d want to use it for. Some reviews talked about the sheath being the wrong size, i guess that would be the case if you only put the blade in this sheath, it looks rather comical that way. I included a pic of how it should actually go. You’ll need to bend up the leather and shove the dagger in about a third of the way down the handle. After doing that once it goes in and out more easily, but still tight enough to keep the dagger from falling out. Highly recommend this if you are looking for high quality at an affordable price

Mismatched sheath vs blade
Sheath is worthless. Not a fit for the blade. 2 stars are strictly for the knife which would be 5 stars on its own. Ill need to buy a $20-30 leather sheath from ebay.

Beautiful blade
I am both a collector and user of blades. This is a beautiful piece for my collection. I enjoy the damascus blade and pommel cap. The wooden grip is just right for this particular blade. For use, it could come a bit sharper, but anyone with knife sharpening skill can fix that.

Okay, not ideal as a sgain dubh
First, the steel seems quite robust and the build quality seems solid. Finish is rough, though. The sheath is far to big and wiggly to use this as a sgain dubh (some of us wear kilts, and I'd hoped this would be good for out in the bush). The knife came coated in anti-corrosive grease, and was a bit challenging to get clean. Running it through the dishwasher finally did the trick. The other thing that either wasn't clear or I missed is that this is double-edged. It is sharp on both sides of the blade. While interesting, a sgain dubh is a utility knife, not a dirk. A dirk usually hangs from the belt and is longer. And a dirk is illegal in almost all U.S. states, especially where I live.I'm going to end up spending about double what I paid for this having an edge taken off and having the blade shortened. Then I'm going to have to find someone to make a proper sheath that will fit into my sock and not have the blade wiggle out and either shave my leg (not interested, thank you) or cut it :-).But. If you are looking for something that resembles a sgain dubh and is double-edged (but be aware that they are illegal in most places) this is a solid value for the money as long as you realize that it won't stay in the sheath, even on a belt.
