Works better than expected
This thing did an amazing job. You can use it by yourself but it is much easier to have someone else do the cutting.I was surprised at how fast the first cut went thru. My old ring was so tight that I still couldn't get it off so I made a second cut. The ring was so hard I could not pry it apart and so I had to make a third cut to cut it in half to get the old ring off because it was so tight. The ring had not been off in over 20 years. The third cut was more difficult. I could tell the blade was dulling. If you plan on using this more than a few times I would definitely get some extra blades.

This really works!
I needed to get my ring removed from my finger before an MRI. I tried the dental floss and lubrication solutions, but nothing worked. You can see from the picture that I bruised my knuckle up pretty badly trying to get the ring over it. I then went to a jewelry store, and they tried to cut it off with a small wire cutter. No luck. I tried other jewelry stores, but they were all closed. So, I found this on Amazon and got it the next day. I had my wife slip the protective loop under my ring, press down on the lever, and turn the cutting wheel. It took about 50 turns of the wheel (a few minutes) and it had cut through the ring. I was then able to pull it apart with needle nose pliers. Problem solved. This tool did the job and was super cheap.

not a recommended product
I am usually more inclined to leave positive reviews than negative ones but I think this product merits an exception; particularly because I am a doctor and this product is sold by a medical supply company, implying that it might be purchased for use in a medical setting. I found this ring cutter so poorly made that it might even be dangerous if it worked (no problem: it doesn’t). The finger guard, loose and wobbly, doesn’t line up with the cutting wheel. That might be dangerous to a finger if the cutting wheel was able to do some cutting. But, again, no problem, because the wheel isn’t connected in any serious way to the axel rotated by the flat grip, so the cutting wheel stands still while you rotate its handle, making sure that it cannot work. I’m mildly annoyed that it couldn’t work for me to remove a ring that non-urgently needed removal, but very worried about what might have happened if medical personnel had to remove a ring in an emergency, reached into their kit, and pulled out this useless device. I recommend passing this one up.

Very safe, easy, sturdy, and value.
This ring cutter was so safe to use I didn't worry about getting cut when my rings were being cut off. It is very sturdy not a flimsy cheap piece of equipment, it is just like it looks very safe, and clean as a medical device should be I would definitely recommend purchasing it, I was at ease and had peace of mind during the process and must admit a relief when rings were removed as I look back, I wonder why it took me so long to make the decision it was so easy.

Works as stated
My wife is having surgery and needed to remove a ring that was too snug for her to remove. The device worked as advertised and did so in a way making the fixing of the ring simple.

So quick and easy!
I had 3 stacked permanent toe rings, sterling silver with channel set stones. After wearing them for 15 years, they had to come off for a surgery. After failing to remove them using lotion, string method, etc., I found this tool, which arrived the next day. My husband tried it first, thought it wasn’t working (maybe not putting enough pressure between the guard and the blade). While he went to the garage to look for tools to help, I grabbed the tool to try myself. I had all 3 off before he came back 2 minutes later. So quick and easy!

Worked well
My husband had to remove his wedding band for surgery. It was thick solid gold And it worked as described. It was an inexpensive option than going to a jeweler who I found out most don't have insurance to do that.

It works!!!
So after two pregnancies my fingers were not how they use to be, lol. My wedding set has been stuck for the past two years and it was getting worse. Finally a easy solution and before I tried the ice cold hand above the head and the string and ribbon. Nothing worked. Soon as I took this out the package I went to work. Literally eight minutes later I had the set off. So happy. Easy to use. All smiles now. I'll get another set, hubby definitely understands and was happy for me.
