Well made garden tool. One hook wonder.
Yowza what a well made garden tool! Lovely wooden shaft and well made replaceable hook blade. They even include the allen wrench you need to tighten the nut after installing the hook/blade. Beautifully crafted and just the thing we needed for those tight garden spaces.

The tool you NEED.
As an experienced organic gardener, I am usually unimpressed by new tools. However, a few years back a friend gifted me the handheld Cobrahead tools, and they worked like MAGIC. They till the soil with great precision because the the blade is larger than the shank - so it rips the weed roots right up. Often, you don't even need to use your hands, just twist the head around a little in the soil, and you can toss the weed out of the garden. It saved me HOURS of time doing it the usual way, and because I was able to get so close to the roots of the vegetable plants without damaging them, said roots were more able to penetrate the soil. Which of course, means bigger, healthier, better yielding plants.Fast forward to a few days ago, when the long version arrived. It was super easy to put together, even for those completely unable to use tools regularly. You just pop the head into the base, then use the allen wrench (The L shaped, hexagonal black thingy) to tighten it down. SUPER easy, really. The handle is why there's so much extra cost. It's almost like a 48" baseball bat - it feels a lot like the old fashioned tools - the ones your Granny has and that you're so jealous of because they're great quality. That heft allows you to really wail into weeds your rototiller can't get to. Moreover, for those of us with bad backs (I MEAN back back. I've had 7 spinal surgeries), the Cobrahead big version does the heavy work largely for you. This is great for those of us who love gardening, but can't take all the bending over due to mobility issues. I HIGHLY recommend spending a little extra for this product, both because of quality, AND because of efficacy!

One of the most used garden tools I own
I bought this in 2018 (I was just describing this to a workmate so decided to finally write a review) and have to say, I can't do without it. Besides all of the uses one can imagine for weeding and garden tending, where it does a better job than any hoe I have ever used (I have three others and my prev favorite was 1950's two pronger) this thing does an amazing job ripping new ground. In CT I will use this use this to repair dog spots, rip poorly growing ground to replace with shade seed, rip areas where I plant new perennials and just recently used it to rip a line for an underground sprinkler line; it pulls up medium sized rocks with ease, rips thru decent sized roots, and penetrates deep enough that one pass does is often sufficient to avoid needing a bigger pitch fork. I mix topsoil with grass seed and apply over the ripped ground and have had great success. Occasionally I do pull out the metal prong from over exertion, always on too big a root, but it easily reattaches with an allen wrench (everyone should own a set of these anyways). Truely an indispencable garden tool.

No more weeding on hands and knees
This product works great. It’s much pricier than its short handled cousin that you have to use on your hands and knees, but worth it if you have annoying weeds particularly in hard to access areas. It’s really good quality and durable. Super easy to assemble.

Update! Great customer service. . .
Originally I said that It looks like it would be a great tool. The handle is nice and sturdy; the metal hook is nice and sturdy. But it came without the allen wrench, so I used one that I had that fit. No matter how tight I can get the set screw, as soon as I start using the tool, the cobra head falls off. So, it is essentially useless to me. UPDATE: I called the company, and they sent out the proper allen wrench and another set screw, and I had no problem getting the screw tight enough to hold the blade. I've used it a little to test, and I can tell it's going to quickly become one of my favorites. Kudos for a good tool and excellent customer service from its maker.

It works
I’ve used this type of cultivator in passed years around the home yard. This one I use in the community garden and it allows me to get in close to the plants for weeds with out damaging the plants. It’s definitely well made and should last a life time. Very pleased.
