Melody Cradle Piano Dollies for Upright Piano (Dark Brown)

We have a Yamaha console piano at church that gets moved a fair amount. One of the legs got damaged in one of the moves. I purchased these as a permanent solution. They work great, transporting the piano is easier and safer. There was no negative impact on the piano. It played and sounded as good as ever. Should of purchased these years ago.

I'm very happy with this product 4 weeks into use on an old 650+ lb upright piano. Rolls over newly refinished hardwood floors without damage. Smooth rolling, good bearings. Best to have at least three people to get piano into dollys. Heavy duty metal seems just right for heavy piano. You do end up with maybe 3 inches distance between wall and piano due to wheels but its worth it. I paid a mover $180 to move the piano last year and could have bought these dollies instead had I known about them.

These are great and work fantastically. The price is for a set of 2 (so you don't have to go find the answer). Customer service is amazing an super fast too. One of ours had a scuffed caster from damage during shipping. The company sent a replacement super fast!

Some others solved the solution of bolts provided that were too short by adding a block. I just went to Home Depot and got some 4.5” bolts. The 3” ones they provide weren’t long enough for the spinet we put this on. I like the dolly. It works great, but I’d suggest either sending longer bolts or proving a spacer for thinner pianos (which obviously are not uncommon, based on these reviews).Also, I was able to leave the original casters on since the gap in the middle of the dolly frame allowed for it. I was not looking forward to the challenge of flipping that piano to remove the casters, not only for my own health but also for the health of the piano.

This is a well built product - BUT - it should be understood that this holds the back of the piano (soundboard side) 5 1/4 inches away from any wall you are placing the piano next to. I've been a pianist all of my life, and virtually every home upright I've seen is placed against a wall. This dolly prevents that. For a school or other commercial use where the piano is stored and moved into position in may not matter, but for most home use its a big deal. Had I known of the 5 plus inch standoff I probably wouldn't have bought the unit. This information should be clearly stated in the description.

Three 60 year old men working together had these wheels installed in about 17 to 20 minutes. I did have to cut two small 2x4s to go in between the pressure plate and the bolts that would secure the piano because the provided bolts were too short to compress my 16” wide piano. Luckily I keep 2x4 scrap around and just cut them the same size as the pressure plates. I still give the cradle wheels 5 stars for being so well made and easy to install. The piano pedals sit at the perfect height, the piano easily moves on my hardwood floors, the front wheels locking mechanisms work, and the brown matches my brown piano. I would not have been able to install these without help so don’t mess around and end up hurt by not getting help! Thanks for a solution to my long broken down piano wheels! Arrived on day promised.

These Piano dollies definitely work. (One for each side) We only wish we had gotten them years before because they work well. They move the piano very easily and never hurt the piano. They do stick out from the wall which I don't like, but, the benefits far outweigh this 1 negative.

This is one of those products that is better than advertised. It's very well made, and easy to install. There are simple, easy to follow instructions included with the product. I was able to install the Melody Cradle in just over an hour with some help from one of my sons. We love it!
