Not Joby. Don't be fooled.
It's not by Joby but it's a decent tripod. Good grip but the legs are made of rubber/silicon and had a bad smell. Returned it.

Great for my micro projector
I have been using the Joby GorillaPod for the past few months with my micro projector. I used to use a micro fixed leg tripod, which worked well, but was not especially durable. As well as this, I found some difficulties getting the positioning right in smaller rooms. This GorillaPod offers unrivalled versatility and has been wonderful to use when travelling. Indeed, I have attached my projector to the frame of a bunkbed, the back rest of a chair and the handle from a set of office draws. You certainly can't do that with a conventional tripod! The GorillaPod relies on a typical screw mount which can be found on most cameras and a myriad of electric devices as universal fitment. It is easy to tighten and hasn't easily come loose in the bottom of my travel backpack. The legs are stiff enough to keep the device securely attached, and do not sag over extended periods of use. The swivel head is quite stiff however, and quite a bit of force needs to be applied to make it move. This can prove a challenge, as that force commonly moves the legs too, leading to a complete reposition being required. Instead, I try and make all adjustments using the legs to avoid this issue. It is also worthwhile noting that any movement in the surface the GorrillaPod is placed on can cause some side-to-side sway. This is more noticeable since the projector is casting a large image on a wall, so small movements make a big difference. However the main issue I have experienced is legs popping off in my backpack. This doesn't happen often, but sometimes half of one of the legs (always the same one) unclips, leading to me having to hunt for it in the bottom of my bag. To rectify this, when not in use, I wrap the legs around each other, which seems to prevent this from happening as frequently.Overall I love my GorillaPod. Great for my needs, and looks quite cool too!

Not a fan of the size of this
This would definitely benefit from being double the size, I wasn't actually expecting it to be this small which is my fault for not checking the specifications, but after a couple months of use with lightweight and medium sized cameras I've found that it's just not that helpful being so small. The legs wrap around a stationary object easy enough but it doesn't feel nice to hold for handheld shots and just feels rather finicky. I'm going to invest in a larger sized handheld tripod as am rather disappointed with this one.

Falls apart after a few uses.
Initially this seemed fine, it was flexible enough and seemed well constructed. After a while though, it began to come apart. At first I wasn't too concerned and just snapped the ball back into its socket. However, I found I needed to do this more and more until now one of the sockets has become so weak that a leg falls off constantly, rendering the entire tripod useless.I hope there are better made and sturdier models available, because I need to find one, and I suggest you do too.

Terrible Ball Head Design - clockwise to adjust, anti-clockwise undoes the camera mount
I already have the hybrid gorillapod which is a good bit of kit. This had promise as a small lightweight tripod for use with the phone (with adaptor) and camera. However the ball pod is terrible in that adjusting the phone/camera anti-clockwise will undo the phone/camera unless it is done up extremely tight.Options are to either remember to always adjust only in the clockwise direction or tighten the ballhead very tight to the camera/phone adaptor (grips required). The ball & socket is plastic by the way, the only stainless steel appears to be the outer collar.Expected better than this from Joby.

Not for anything heavy
I have used this for my mobile along with a separately purchased holder and it works fine on and surface, eblven wrapped around a pipe.I tried it with a laser level and although it held it up I wasn't confident on and surface other than pretty flat due to the weight of the laser. It did the job but I think for a DSLR it might be too much especially if fitted with a larger lens.
