Good Product
Cheaper than name brand and deals with acne the same way. Why spend more money?

Do your research
It does wonders for my face! My acne isn't completely cleared because I'm an unhealthy individual, but any pimples that I feel begin to form - I use the cream for 1-2 days and it'll be gone before becoming a white pus-filled bump.Initially I was using it on for back acne and started out small. It worked very well. Then I started using it on my face, but still starting out small since the skin on my back is tougher than my face. I eventually upped the dosage to roughly twice a day. My skin has yet to react negatively. However, it does bleach the face wash clothes I've been using, so watch out for that. However, I would really emphasize that you need to research what benzyl peroxide is before using it. Keep in mind it has bleaching properties; to start in small quantities; and do a skin test. Also, using any acne product isn't the only factor in clearing your skin - keep in mind your health and all that jazz.

Reading is key
Unfortunately I didn't take any before and after pictures to give a comparison but hopefully you'll read this and still be able to get a good idea of what the product is about.First things first, if you haven't used a benzoyl peroxide product before read up on it. Chances are you will probably experience some of the side effects. (Most of the negative reviews in the comments seem to be from people who don't know the difference between side effects and a true allergic reaction. ) If you're like me, and suffer from acne that's beyond annoying and actually alters your self esteem, the trade off of some itchy, burning, dry skin for a few days is worth it. I began by applying a thin layer after using a gentle cleanser (not a scrub) once every three days. Everything was going good for me so I decided to kick it up a notch and go to every other day instead. Well, that's when the patches of redness and swelling appeared on my face. I hadn't used a benzoyl peroxide product before so I was a little upset but instead of getting angry I read up on it. It turns out that this happens to most people to varying degrees and that my skin needed more time to adjust to the product. So I took a break for a week and made certain to use a moisturizer and a moisturizing face mask every day and within a week my skin was back to normal. After that I went back to applying the product once every three days and, even though I've had a couple black heads here and there, I'm happy to say I haven't had a single large, painful, cystic, pimple since I began using this. Honestly, I've dumped a ton of money into over the counter acne products on my lifetime and this is honestly the only thing that has given me actual results that are lasting.

Good for clearing up acne, but over dried my skin.
As soon as I got this PersaGel, that same night I applied some product over my hormonal acne that always shows up on my chin. Then I topped it off with my moisturizer (CeraVe) and I really liked this product as it seemed to work fine, but after two days of using it, my chin area started to flake off and I realized the product had over dried my skin!I had flakes of dried skin all over my chin for days until I finally scrubbed the skin off lightly to remove the dried skin {My chin looked similar to what a snake looks like while shedding off it’s skin layer. My mom saw me like this and she was horrified at first and tbh I was also scared lmao}.I have dry to combo skin as well as sensitive skin so that may be why my skin reacted this way but overall while it did clear up my acne, it also over dried my skin. I do recommend this product, but make sure to apply with a Q-tip ONLY in the blemish area if your skin is sensitive. I think this product works more as a ‘drying lotion’ for me so make sure to moisturize after using! Also! Do a patch test first!! Don’t want to be looking like I did and scaring your whole family and population of the world by looking like Godzilla for two days 😅 Hope this helps :)

No burn, just dryness
Been using this for an outbreak all across the back of my neck where my hair is. It’s really bad. It’s a mass of acne grouped together that was inflamed really bad and swollen and very noticeable. started using this immediately and I have not experienced any of the burning that others speak of or flaky skin shedding. The formula does however dry out the skin so much that no matter how much moisturizer you put on top moments later it dries that out too. You can’t stop the dryness, but I figure that’s what it’s intended to do is dry out the acne and kill the bacteria so just have to deal with it until it gets better. It did not dye my hair either and I have fine black hair. The inflammation went away and everything’s back to skin surface level. It will take weeks more to see the full aftermath of what this product has done, but so far so good. I feel that it is going away rather quickly. and the growth has stopped for sure!

Incredible value for a branded product; consistently effective
For a high quality branded product, J&J's Persa Gel for acne is surprisingly affordable. I've used these for years intermittently and the quality has remained consistent with relatively fast results. The size of the tube is small enough to bring along with me in a work bag, so I can apply the benzoyl peroxide whenever I need to on the go.Formula is just right-- not sticky or too watery and absorbs into the skin quickly. It may leave a small trace white residue on the skin where applied, but this is typical of all concentrated benzoyl peroxide creams and can be easily removed by dabbing a bit of water on the affected area.I usually go generic for most of my purchases, but this is one branded acne product that I feel makes a difference at a negligible cost difference.

Not working after 1st week.
Seemed to work really good in the beginning. I have cystic acne. The first week it dried my face up great and cleared it up. I guess now my face is used to it and it’s back oily with break outs again.
