12' Coolhaven Shade Sail Kit, Square - Sahara

We just love Coolaroo shades. This is our second purchase of one, our last one was still in good shape after 9 years! Our porch is on the east side of the house and gets most of the day's sun and this product is just the ticket. We've had so many people come over and ask about it. Functional and attractive. Great product.

Very well made - durable & sturdy. Easy to install. We used this shade sail on the west facing side of our patio. We attached the top part of the sail to our house and patio cover and the bottom of the sail to the concrete slab. The shade it provides is wonderful. We had a straight line 50 mph wind the other night and it withstood it with no problem. I would definitely buy again.

Just bought another one of these. The one I am replacing is over 10 years old and held up really well. I haven't done more than open the package of the new one, but it look s just like the old one. It goes up in the spring and comes down in the fall. I don't take it down when wind is expected. After all this time, there was only light fading. It finally failed last October due to a surprise early 3" of wet snow. The failure was at the seams - it looks like the thread may have deteriorated faster over time than the fabric. I see that other brands are half as much, however some of those reviews complain about them failing after a year or two and I was very happy with the Coolaroo, so paid more to get another.

We have been coolaroo Brand loyal for many years. Their fabric seems to be the best at holding up to the sun.Unfortunately, the last two, and now the newest recent order have a seam about 1/5 of the way across. The previous two both split at that seam… The thread failed, NOT the fabric. Moot point… No good anymore. Must be a stress point combined with the Arizona sun, the thread around the border has never failed.In another area, we used a different brand, don’t remember which, Not ordered from Amazon, but might be available here. The fabric has held up OK, but is showing wear at the metal d-ring. The point is, no seam to fail.I suspect the reason for the seam is the bulk production of the fabric is narrower than the 12 ft shade. But the other companies don’t suffer from the problem.I will see how the other shade holds up, but I fully expect this coolaroo to fail the same as the other two. Sad, prefer their general workmanship and fabric to the others.Get rid of the seam.

The shade sail it self appears to be good quality. However there is no mounting hardware included as indicated on Amazon.I’ve reached out to Cooleroo with a complaint and have had no response.

I purchased to cover the outer portion of my patio from the hot sun and it worked as I had hoped. Kept the area of stone cooler and protected my plants. I have recommended to another neighbor.

I’ve had this shade a few years and it’s held up really well. No fading. Reliable. Provides good shade in our Texas summers. Had a few crazy storms and it’s lasted through it ALL till Sunday. 70-80 mile hour winds caused it to tear. We are buying another. Love it.

Great product for the money! Blocks the sun well
