Fresh, Clean, and Perfect for Milling—A Great Buy!
I ordered a pail of hard white wheat berries from Augason Farms, and while my first shipment arrived with the lid ajar and some spillage, their customer service quickly sent a perfect replacement. The wheat itself is clean, pristine, and mills beautifully—producing some of the best bread we’ve ever made! High-quality product at a great price. I’m a fan!

Moneys worth!
The size of this is great because it will stay good for so much longer. You really gets your moneys worth with how large it is.

good product
I ordered two buckets of wheat, when they came in one was perfectly fine, but the other one had a lid that was partially open. If you read on the bucket it says that the wheat is good for thirty years, but if you open the bucket you have to use it within a year. I saw a lot of reviews where people were having the same problem. I DID GET THE MONEY BACK for the bucket that was open. So if you want to stock up on the wheat for long term storage, it might take you couple times until you get a bucket with a good seal.If this product was not advertised as a long term storage, it would get a 5 star review.

Nice Wheat
Boxes arrived unbroken. I like these wheat berries. And no chaff or stones or foreign matter found in them so far.

Augason Farms Customer Service is Terrible
I have been replacing 1500 pounds of wheat and liked Augason Farm's 4 gallon square pails. The problem is almost 50% of every order had to be returned/replaced because the lids pop off during shipment spilling contents. The picture attached is just one example. Even when the pail is packed into its own box the lid comes off. I called Augason who said to return them to Amazon because the product could not be guaranteed since the seal was broken. I have now done this a number of times. Financially this is not a problem. Amazon has replaced the product or refunded the money (although some of of the replacement pails also were opened and had to be replaced...again.). The main problem is time and the inconvenience of repacking, labeling, and dropping off at a UPS Store.I called Augason three times about this, twice to just be a helpful customer. I felt that they needed to know about the problem to avoid dissatisfied customers, fix the problem with packaging and shipping, and not lose a lot of money due to returned goods. (Amazon...if you are reading this, you need to figure out packaging.)The last time I called the Augason customer service, the representative said that it was "not his problem; Amazon was managed by 'another part of our company'". So I asked if I could get the contact information for the manager of "that part of Augason". He answered, "No". I asked why. He said, "Customers are not allowed to contact other parts of our company. I will pass the message along." I advised I was trying to help and my past communications were apparently not passed along and the problem not solved. I asked if there were any other number I could call to talk to general management. "No." The shocking and very non-customer-service answer??? He said, "Management does not want to talk to our customers and does not allow us to give out information allowing customers to get a hold of them. "At this point I was appalled. I replied, "I am trying to help your company succeed..I am not trying to cause a problem. I am the CEO of a $750 million net revenue business. I am accessible to all of our customers and even give out my personal cell number to them. I teach all 5,000 of my employees that they are to be fully responsive to our customers are direct any unresolved issues directly to me. The result has been really high customer satisfaction ratings as compared to our peers in the US. I love any kind of feedback because it has helped our business. So I do not understand why Augason would not want feedback to improve or help their bottom line."If things were not bad enough, he then said, "Sir (condescendingly), you have your company and can run it your way. We have our company and will run it our way. Goodbye." He then hung up. Frankly, had he worked for me he would have been out the door that minute!I found the email address to customer service and tried that route to see if I got any kind of reply. It has been about a week with zero response. As such, I decided it was the pail I loved...better than 5 gallon buckets that are heavy when filled. So I found the exact same bucket on Amazon and bought ten of those. I then found 25 pounds of bagged wheat from another Amazon supplier as well as oxygen absorber packets. The bagged wheat comes well packed in a box. No spills or problems in 4 deliveries. Customer service is excellent. It takes less than 5 minutes to pour the wheat into the pail, throw in an oxygen absorber packet, and seal the bucket.Until this experience I really liked that actual product Augason provides; however, same quality wheat or other long term food is readily available from other sources. Augason fails to realize that when products are similar, the key thing that makes one company better than another is customer service. So I am never going back to them. Oh, and by the way, despite what another customer service representative said, there are NO oxygen absorbers in their pails...just the product in a pail. Having multiple buckets delivered broken and open I definitely know that to be a fact.I know I am going against the grain in terms of ratings, but if you want a company that cares about customer feedback, allows customers to resolve issues with management, etc., find another one than Augason Farms.

Equally good for long-term storage and for immediate use.
These resealable containers stack neatly; the rectangular shape makes for the most efficient use of space as multiple stacks can sit flush with one another.I've purchased wheat berries from Emergency Essentials, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and a local co-op. The taste of Augason Farm's wheat berries is comparable: I make bread from wheat flour only, ground from berries. No one in my family of 7 noticed the difference when I switched brands to Augason Farms.Despite the fact that these containers are for long-term food storage, the price rivals that of bulk purchases packaged for immediate use. I've watched the fluctuation in price for the 26lb and the 40lb size and the per pound price for the smaller package is consistently a better deal. When compared to several other supplier prices (see the list above, plus I compared Honeyville and other, smaller companies), the per pound price of Augason is lower for each after factoring in shipping costs to the east coast. Some companies offer free shipping on very large purchases and some offer a flat ship rate so it benefits you to buy more. Walmart prices on this product have matched Amazon's each time I've ordered but comparatively little needs to be purchased from Amazon to earn free shipping for those who don't have prime, while Walmart requires a larger purchase to earn free shipping and takes much longer to ship.Bottom line: this product is priced well for short or long-term food storage. Free shipping options make it easy to build stores slowly or to purchase just enough for immediate use.Don't forget to purchase at least one tool to open the containers.
