Hi it’s Suzanne, Absolutely, it works just as well for 2 plates as it does for 5, or 10 etc. Simply place the plates in between the folds and start from the bottom of the Platewarmer. Hope this helps. Suzanne

I would not. It gets hot and after years, eventually fails by burning a little hole through heat coils and plastic cover and synthetic fabric cover. I have kept my plate heaters on top of wood block on top of fridge for many years on a timer set to 2 hours before breakfast, then off, then 2 hrs before dinner with a couple + plates loaded as soon as any are used. Unit only runs for 4-6 hours a day, but plates are ready for meals.

Q: What are the actual dimensions of the warmer when it is stretched out flat?

I have never measured it laying out flat because to warm your plates you put a plate in the bottom and I place another one on top of that plate and then fold over and continue doing the same things until you have placed approximately 8 to 10 plates on the warmer. It is great. No more serving nice hot food on cold plates. The plates are not too hot so can be held easily and my guest and I love my plate warmers. Your guest will turn over the top flap, takes their plate and the next person takes the next plate And then the next person flips the fabric over etc. etc. Hope this makes sense to you. There is no need to stretch out your plate warmer.

Each fold can hold one, two, or three plates. It takes about 20 minutes to heat 5 plates (1 per fold), 30 minutes, 10 plates (2 per fold), 40 minutes, 15 plates (3 per fold). I have done 15. I am pleased with this product.
