Q: I want to make a Horlicks like malted milk drink that is less sweet - is this the right one? Also is it malted barley or malted wheat?

Yes I bought this for same reason as you, although I’m not sure what it would be like on its own. I mix it with cocoa powder and skimmed milk powder to create a malted drink.

Q: can you mix it with cocoa to make a hot drink with milk

Yes, I would have thought so. I mix it with milk and some low calorie sweetener to make a malt drink, so adding cocoa would be fine. I find I tend to use quite a lot of power which makes it a bit costly.

Q: to achieve the malted flavour in bread what ration to 500gm flour

Anywhere between 0.5 and 2.5% of the flour weight, it's down to your preference as it adds flavour and sweetness.

Q: im looking for malt powder to put in ice cream can you help
