The is the hinge that will perfectly hold your cabinet open until you would like it to smoothly, softly close.If you find that it's possible to get super stoked about cabinetry, then this is the hinge for you. So much better than those standard finger-pinching chest hinges that advertize a locking position.I put these in three cabinets built to handle heavy use by classrooms of students. If anything goes even A LITTLE BIT WRONG, I'll update this review. Aside from working out the how-to of the install (HINT: Install in the OPEN position, work out the base plate rotation you'll need from there to allow closure), these are so fantastic that I'm pulling in total strangers to show them how my "cabinets close." They don't even look disappointed that it's not a metaphor.

Bought these for a toy chest I built for my grandkids. Like the design. However, the instructions to install were not as clear as I would have liked. Had considerable trouble installing. Actually, went to a different lid stay because of this. Did not send back, as it was not defective, just not good instructions.

This was bought for a new pantry we installed in our house. The door it holds up is rather large, awkward, and heavy. The hinge holds it up and we have no concerns of one of us being decapitated.
