Spiritual Warfare: Christians, Demonization and Deliverance Paperback – January 4, 2021

I have to say, I wasn't sure about all the spiritual warfare fanatics out there, no disrespect. I understand there's a devil, demons, and I see in scripture how Jesus cast out demons, and the disciples did. However, after ready this book, I'm more than convinced that this stuff is real and common, not just in Africa, but here in America. I've never had any experiences with anyone regarding what the author shares, until I read this book. I read it and also listened to the Audio book version. Great book and inspiring. I told my wife. Then a believing couple involved in our church and friends had mentioned to us that the wife was experiencing contortions of her body, speaking in different languages, no control of her body, which she had never done before after doing brain spotting therapy. She is not like this at all before. Our church doesn't really talk too much about spiritual warfare. I told her I just read this book on Spiritual warfare, and we all met together. I even tried to contact the author of this book at his church recently via email to assist, but I'm sure he gets these emails often. I feel so ill-equipped. But we had some of our members praying for her after church. Her husband was trying to help her, she was strong, she was trying to puke, contorting, burping, glazing at us. She was confessing sin, asking God to help. We were crying and praying of her. The Pastor and I went over their home this week and prayed over their home. I made notes of Karl Payne's essential systemic approach in about 6 pages, like cheat sheets, to help others, but I have so many questions. I would say this book has taught me what I need to know, but I feel there needs to be a follow-up book. Great book.

Church fam- Read! This! Book!Such an incredible resource for Christ-followers of all backgrounds and traditions! Especially for those like me who have not known what to make of demons and demonization. Now I do. We have authority through Christ! I always heard this and now I understand more of what that looks like.This book is richly rooted in the Word, is very practical, concise, and thorough, and provides real life examples from decades of experience in deliverance ministry. I really appreciate how from the get go he said that his way wasn't the only, one way period... but he was sharing his experience and backing it up with the Bible...in other words, his humility rather than pride really stood out to me. So many authors these days like to toot their own horn...he did not. He made much of Christ and kept pointing to Him and HIS authority and power throughout the entire book.Read it !!!! :-)

Recently, I have been thinking about the subject of spiritual warfare and was about to research which books are available on the subject. Within the week, I heard Dr. Payne interviewed on a local Christian radio station and that was how I heard about the book. When I got home that evening, I ordered the book from Amazon. I believe that this was very timely for me and would greatly help me grow in this area and minister to people better with this training.I completely like this book since I believe all the concepts Dr. Payne shared are in agreement with principles in the Bible. I have always believed and understood the meaning of the delegated authority Christians have been given by Christ. But to hear many stories of the believer's authority in action is really eye-opening and encouraging. I liked the book so much that I also ordered the audio-book version so that I can listen to it in my car as many times as possible during my long commute to and from work. I also just ordered a copy as a gift to my pastor. This is a gem that should be in every believer's library.I have started recommending it to others. Every believer needs to understand the operation of demons and deal with them appropriately.One thing I liked about Dr. Payne is that he appealed to all Christians namely charismatics, non-charismatics, etc., to lay aside doctrinal/denominational differences and stick to the Bible. I have a sense that he is a true believer of the Bible and not just a Baptist Minister. This is how it should be; Jesus, nothing else!!I highly recommended the book. May The Lord protect him and his ministry and help him continue to prevail and share his victories.This is an update on January 1. 2022.My wife also read the book and loved it and ordered 2 more for our kids. We have been doing Bible study with them.And very recently I had the privilege of actually applying the principles listed in the book especially the need to lay the ground rules. It worked just as discussed in the book. I thank my Lord for leading me to this book. I encourage all readers to approach reading this book with humility. I can testify that the book has a wealth of truths and the principles outline really work!!!! Thank you Jesus!
