Q: Is 56cm realistic in terms of seat height? One of the reviews said it doesn't lift high enough.

The chair I have fully extended from floor to top end of cushion is less than stated on the review you and I have read which as you say 56cm it is actually 50cm fully extended but that isn't an issue for me ,it is very noisy in the recline position cluncking noises ,but it is comfortable.

Beware of the rest leather easily peeled off after a few months.

The back support is fairly upright and not adjustable but it remains comfortable as it deeply padded. I have sat in this chair for my job for minimum 8 hours per day for last 6 months and never felt uncomfortable
