I have a very dark entry.I had previously bought a beautiful copper hanging balloon light, which is solar. It only works at the end of my long entry, as it is the only spot that gets enough sun to charge the battery.So, with solar being out of the equation, I went looking for lanterns to use in the dark entry. Most are ugly and boring. These Vela lanterns require you to buy a battery operated string of lights, but it could not be more perfect for this purpose. I got the aqua color. It's gorgeous and perfect.I've also bought the battery operated lights with timer, so I don't have to go out and turn it on every day, and a 32" stake to hang it on.The one negative thing I might say is that it is not really well made. The bits don't fit together perfectly, but for the price - 5 stars!

very pretty lantern, I was a bit skeptical because the price just seemed too good to be true but I am so happy to say this was definitely a great purchase. I was looking for a decorative lantern to display in my room on a shelf and this is perfect. It's really very pretty and well made. The design on the glass panels makes the reflection of light from a candle so pretty. I am using LED votive candles inside. You can easily fit 3 of the LED votives inside of this without a problem. The door opens nicely making it very easy to place your candle inside, and I would say that you could probably fit a larger candle inside of here without a problem, not a 3 wick size but the 2 wick size candles (6inch) I think would be fine. It is really very roomy inside. I would definitely recommend this if you are looking for a decorative lantern, it's metal and glass. Although it is white I think if you masked off the glass you could easily paint this any color you want.

The metal is straight and strong, the little door clamps on nicely, the white paint is even and well covered, the glass is lovey and the size is substantial. Great for gifting without breaking the bank. Pleasantly surprised...an often rare occurrence.

The latch on the lantern door was attached improperly… I was able to close it with great difficulty! I still love it and the size❣️

I absolutely love these lanterns! They are beautiful! I got two of them for our bride and groom table at my wedding. They are made of metal and the panels are glass. One of them came very well packaged and the other one did not (looked like maybe it was a resale?) but it didn't affect the quality of the item.They have a little door that opens on the inside and work best with a pillar candle (I found that a tea light didn't give enough light). They would probably work well with a battery operated candle too since the glass is opaque and you can't really see inside. Highly recommend!

the lanterns are beautiful, the glass is very pretty, i placed fairy lights in them, exactly what i wanted

So, very pretty and looks like the other one I got with no trouble. However, if it was USPS or them, the item came damaged. The glass was pristine and overall had the shape expected. But the bottom was jarred and warped, and there was a big gap which made the door not close properly. Dissappointed but I can still use it for my purpose.

Love my lantern I use it in my bedroom for a nightlight. I put in the string of lightsIn it, and it is beautiful. I got the White Medium size with clear glass, it makes a perfect decoration, andmake a perfect gift for Senior Citizens. Since we are so lonely and forgotten, this makes our nights so comforting.

Very sturdy lantern. Looks very antique and beautiful, I painted mine gold, which added an extra point to the lantern. Real glass panels, are dangerous so be careful, but they don't fall out easily.
