Great phone from Grandstream
In setting up a new remote office, I picked RingCentral as my VOIP service. I needed a phone to go with it, and I picked this Grandstream model . It's excellent with many fantastic features.Likes: very easy to setup with RingCentral, the management tool through the internal network is easy to use, the voice clarity is fantastic, the speakerphone is also very good and clear. On the main display, it determines your local address and shows the weather for today and the next two days along with the local time/date. I find that feature surprisingly helpful. Checking things like call history, getting voicemail, automatically forwarding calls is all done quickly. Very customizable where I can set a custom wallpaper, ringtone, dialing groups, contacts, etc... I get it to work exactly the way that works best for me.Dislikes: Like all phones, the cords get tangled easily. Some of the configuration options using the phone menu is a bit cumbersome. For example, on the weather screen, there is a config option to just config the weather. To config the phone, it's the button in the middle of the arrows. To change a ring tone, it's in preferences and not in phone options. Using the intranet portal, there are numerous options and it can take a while to navigate to the right option.

I love this phone!!!
PROs:Color screen is fantastic. The feature set is PRO grade. The value for what you pay will have you wondering how you got so lucky.Lots of tweak-ability. This is great for any office that would like to sport their own company branding for a professional look.Anyone with basic XML experience can go nuts with this phone.Integration is tight - supports the extended feature set of many PBX solutions right out of the box, or your can make your integration solution with some basic XML using your favorite scripting language.Power over Eithernet (PoE) is great for reducing cable clutter and provides much needed simplicity for your end users. (Will just need to make a minor investment in PoE injectors for this)Grandstream customer service is fantastic.Cons:None.. Do not take my phone - (Might have to send Ninjas afta' ya)

many customizations
Great phones with many customizations and features. Easy to set up and very good call quality. Has a big beautiful screen. User interface is a little clunky though.Works very well and it is substantially cheaper than competing products. I've bought a couple of these.Overall I am very pleased with this phone.

Decent VOIP phone, really nice full duplex speakerphone.
I've lived with this as my office phone for some time now. Like all phones, it has its quirks, and like all VOIP phones, getting it set up and integrated is really intended to be the job of a professional. That said, enough documentation is available to make integration with a hand-built Asterisk PBX installation work well, and I am happy with how it is working. An especially strong feature of this beast is its speakerphone. The microphone is good quality, and the speaker is very good for a phone. Better still, it is full-duplex and even works reasonably well to take a call without needing to mute background music or silence the room. Even with several of these participating in conference call, any number can be speakerphones without making the conference impossible to use.The bottom line is that I am very satisfied with having chosen this phone for my office to replace a classic wired PBX.

Extremely unreliable.
Well, I guess you get what you pay for.In addition to the process to get the latest firmware taking a week of back-and-forth with support, the latest firmware is horribly buggy (and reverting to the only mildly buggy firmware that it came with is "Impossible.")Here are the bugs I've found so far* Regularly get kicked out of the admin and user interface for no reason* The CIT app barely works; feature buttons in CIT app do not work.* If you start transferring a caller and then cancel the transfer you cannot retrieve the caller, even if you hang up they will wait on hold forever. This ALONE is a showstopper. Stay away!* The phone periodically won't make calls, it recieves them fine and the SIP provider shows "registered" but no outgoing calls will connect, the only way is to reboot. Second showstopper.* The bluetooth also basically craps out at random and the only way to get it back is to reboot. The support is outrageously awful. The only way to get support is to post messages back-and-forth on a website. I'm not making this up, this is actually "support" not a "forum." (the company has one of those too.)There is a way to change the ringers, by the way but the ones that come with it are unbelievably awful. The default ringer sounds exactly like ringback tone (the tone you hear while a call is ringing on 'the other end.') This is unfathomable. The other three are cheezy and unprofessional. If I was to tell you the procedure involved in changing the ringers you just wouldn't believe me. (Also, it's as flaky as the rest of this device; it took several tries to upload them and at least once they mysteriously were erased and replaced by the default ringers, I have no idea how.)I'll give support a few more days but I'm pretty sure this is going to go back into the box...
