Forever Part Of The Meinl Family Now
I have done extensive research on many cymbals looking through every crack and crevice I could find so that I could have my perfect sound. I used to be almost obsessed with all of the zildjian cymbals and swore by it that they were the company i wanted to buy from, until i saw these cymbals. The sound of these feel so different from any other normal cymbal you may buy, I love how dry and crisp the chick of the hi hat is, same with the crash and the trash crash, it is a perfect combination of brightness and dryness. The ride is probably the most versatile thing is this kit of cymbals because no matter how you strike it, the sound will ALWAYS be perfect, not to mention the bell is probably the best bell to have ever existed (videos on youtube do not do it justice). If you have the money or think you could finance it, i would definately choose these cymbals. You may think these are some kind of jazz/gospel cymbals but i mainly play heavy rock, punk, edm, and hip hop drums, these cymbals will make your brain explode with the sound they can produce. Definitely would buy 10x again.

Well worth the money if you have it
These sound great, and could be used for any style of music. The trash crash is paper thin and has a fast attack and could replace any China cymbal in my Arsenal. The ride is so clean and has a great feel under my sticks, the bell sounds great with any part of the stick. The 18in crash is a higher pitch but cuts thru like a knife thru hot butter!!! And last but not least the hi-hats nice heavy bottom and a thin top makes for a great "chick" and has fantastic rebound. 1000$ is a lot of cash to shell out but you can tell that a human did most of the work on these and that's why they sound so great. I would buy them again with out a second guess!

BEST CYMBALS MONEY CAN BUY HANDS DOWN
If you want to get the best cymbals at this price range these are the ones. They are not cheap but you get what you pay for.Plenty of video available on these baby's that can explain and describe them better than me.Benny Greb has many of them.First off they are beautiful. That being said the 20 inch Sand Ride is smooth with just the right amount of wash...when you play it your stick just sort of becomes part of it it has a great bell and shimmers just right....really it is a great ride and crash. The 18 inch thin crash is my favorite in the kit....not being too technical... remember when you were in High School and you were banging the big marching cymbals and they cut through everything...this is that sound.... and it is hard to describe...it sounds fantastic if you hit it soft or hard.I guess you have to hear it to understandThe Sand Hi Hats are the best sounding ones I have ever owned and I have owned a lot over the years, great stick definition and sweet chick, and you can get some amazingly varied sounds out of them the bottom one is at least twice as heavy as the top.Sorry about not being real technical, but as an average Joe who got himself an amazing set of cymbals I am doing my best. You got the money...buy them..I don't know if I should play them or just hang them up on the wall and look at themWatch my drum vids at SNAKEPIT456The one for this kit is ..."Meinl Byzance Vintage Series Benny Greb Sand Cymbal Set 14 , 18, & 20 Inch un-box and demo" you tube
