Awesome product, weighty but too good to miss
Have used it for 2-3 days now, works almost like non-stick without health hazards. I had to wash it, dry it and oil it before use once (the same was however mentioned in the leaflet provided with the tawa), it holds heat for a long time and i was able to make 8-10 dosa's at a stretch without any burning etc.The dosa's leave the edges after they are cooked and then its a child's play to use the provided spatula and remove it.The only problem i see is the un-availability of a handle, the tawa gets very hot and remains hot for a good 30 mins even after switching off the gas, there is no way to pick it up (I really find it hard to lift with single hand even when cold), I was using a piece of cloth to lift it a little for evenly spreading oil but the cloth caught fire from the gas :)It may be worth mentioning that the spatula was sharp (yes sharp), it could be used as a weapon :) i exercised caution while using itThat being said, one could probably try the smaller one (if you dont have a large family, i purchased a large one as i love large dosas)

Best choice as dosa tawa.
Wonderful tava. Made of thick iron material. Dosas come out easily. Try making thick dosas with more oil to begin with. Hope it works like this throughout its life time and does not Contain harmful residues like nonstick tawas. Even though it looks like made of iron it does not rust like normal iron khadai. I am not sure if it has any coating.

A bit expensive, but perfect non-stick...
It is very heavy and the crispness of Dosas particularly Rawa Dosa is unbelievable. The texture of the dosa itself is different compared to the coated non-stick ones... Worthy buy and very nostalgic addition to our kitchen.

This is not cast iron.
The same Tawa is available at ₹100 less on Zishta site. Amazon site describes it as cast iron which it is not.

Good Product
Very good product, I choose a large one which I feel is bit big for a small family. I expected the product to be packed bit more professionally, I received it with the product just wrapped in old newspapers and put in the product cardboard box.
