Fantastic book for real estate agents
I got this book at my husband's request and he LOVES it. He's been an agent for 3 years but was hoping to take it up a notch. He devoured this book in just a day or two, then read it again, and again. He has taken copious notes from it and implemented a lot of what the book suggests and has seen good results. It *is* slightly dated (talks about email and other tech as if it's a newer invention), but the meat of the book is still highly relevant.

Great for Beginner's
I have read 3 quarters of this book treating it like a text book that means taking notes high lighting sentences, ear marking pages and I have started using about dozon different tatics and they do work I have had great results with this. Also my company provides alot of extra training and alot of what I read in the book was brought up more than once in the seminars and classes so I know it does work but just like you'll see in the book that even with alot of people telling you stuff there are few agents that actually use these tactics that is why I plan to become the top lister and seller in my office. Thanks Tom Hopkins for taking the time to write this book and share your knowledge with the rest of use who want to succeed in this market.

Read it before; wanted my own copy
Tom Hopkins does a wonderful job laying out what it is to be successful in real estate, and how you can be, as well. There are points that he makes that make an incredible difference and some things he mentions that you really need to avoid. Best advice ever: be who you are.

Read this book and be rich.
Well, you have to take massive actions after you read this though. With that being said, this fantastic book is one of the best resources regarding improving one's skill as a real estate agent. It has lots of contents, more like 2 or 3 books together. Personally I believe if you read and act upon this book, you will be successful, simple as that.Buy and read it!

Decent.
Let me start by saying I learned a lot from Tom years ago while working with a MLM in college and have always considered him a great guy (much of his material from Zig Ziglar). When I started real estate I bought five of what looked to be some of the top books in order to prepare myself for interactions. What I soon found was that most if the material is the same recycled information. What's worse is that when actually interacting with people I soon found that the endless scenarios the books try to cover aren't even what happens in the real world. I couldn't even finish much of the books because in trying to learn hypothetical material it prevented me from being sincere and just simply asking the same questions and treating people the same way you would a friend. These books try to make you a salesperson, and that might be ok, but nowadays people can see right through most of this scripted stuff and you won't be making a sale because it's not from the heart. Once I stopped trying to learn the stuff in the books it was much easier to use common sense to interact with prospects and clients. I was disappointed with Tom here because so much of what he says is just so contrived and dated. That may not be the case with everyone.
