Finally gave in and spent money on a nicer torch. Had been buying cheapo ones for the last few years and they were all sub-par to say the least.Just spend the money and buy the power probe. Trust me, completely worth it for the heat shrink abilities alone. Adjustable airflow/heat on the flame is a plus as well. Feels like it’s built well, and not going to break if I squeeze it too hard.

I thought for a bit the piezoelectric was going bad. I just scraped at the wire end a bit and it started sparking again. It's made very well. Not designed to fail imo.

Still going after beating it to hell. Would recommend.

This thing is so useful. The only thing I would note is the attachments are a little gimmicky and not very useful. I tried to use a couple and found my self back with my old equipment for those applications.

I have owned a lot, and I mean a lot of torch lighters, and this one is the best. It lights almost everytime, lets you adjust the flame from soft flame to a very strong torch lighter, and you can leave it on for up to an hour (which seems to be what kills most other torches from my experience.) Compared to the bernzomatic magnum torch and dremel mag torch? I think this one is better. The flame adjustments are better, it stays lit longer. The only thing that those two had on this is they came with all the adapters. I suppose that is how they can sell it at the similar $50 mark. I'm satisfied with my purchase. I'm use to my torch lighters malfunctioning after a month or two. Even those sold on here with high ratings. I do preventative care, but as stated before usually the long light times kill my torches. This one can stay lit for an hour, and is as good as new after 3 months.

the thing that sold me on this torch years ago was when i was riding with my buddy in his 4 door jeep with no doors and no top doing about 75 on the interstate when he pulls out a cigarette and lights it with this torch one handed with no problems with the wind. as a mechanic i use this torch everyday for melting heat-shrink on bare butt connectors when i do any repairs to wiring. in addition you can but a kit from power probe that includes soldering wire and tips. even includes a razor knife to make a hot knife. iv dropped it many times and haven't yet broke the metal handle or the plastic switch that controls the gas. very high quality torch and worth every penny!
