Best In Twenty Years
I’ve read reviews that said this razor isn’t appropriate for a beginner. I honestly don’t get that. I’ve used straight razors exclusively for 20 years, from fixed blades to inserts. Whether you’re just starting or a seasoned expert, this razor is remarkable. First, I love not having to cut and break razor blades. That’s dangerous! It’s nice to put a full double blade in and just turn it over for a fresh blade! The blade extends from the blade holder just enough to cut beard close but not enough to cause problems. The weight helps with control, and it is substantial. The rosewood handle is beautiful. I’m truly enjoying this razor.I will say the blades that came with the razor are useless and do nothing but reduce the confidence in the seller. My advice to them is lose their cheap blades and either don’t send blades or send truly good ones. I threw them all away after using one. They’re garbage. But a good Gillette blade in and enjoy!!

Works pretty good
But gets some rust after a while and I have to tighten the screws every few months. Good for edging up mustache

Excellent
The fact you need a standard razor blade, makes this excellent for beginners. If you are not dedicated to sharpening and want minimal hassle, you’re better off with something like this.It took me several tries to get figure the angle without cutting myself. But not much more difficult than a safety razor. The slide needs to held while shaving or it could open. The wooden grip has a good feel and for the price its well made. Looks just as advertized.Personal advice; a straight razor of any kind should be bought for two reasons. 1.) decoration. 2.) you are willing to put in the work to learn how to use and risk getting cut because you will. I say this from personal experience.

Not good quality
The razor looks great, and I like the blade replacement system (you'll want to pinch in the adjusting buckle and tighten the adjusting screw for best results). However, the quality of the razor head is subpar - made of aluminum, and mine had jagged edges where the blade sticks out (can be easily fixed with a file). Moreover, I did not like the hand-feel at all - the handle is too light, and the pivot between the handle and head is either sticky or loose depending on how far open it is (due to poor geometry design).

I was surprised with the quality of this product, without a doubt the best money invested, the opinions of other buyers influence which is the best option, without a doubt it is this, five stars

Bad marketing or cheap product?
On the first run with the razor that came with the product and it's not doing anything. My electric shaver cuts better and deeper than this is. I think it's more of the cheap razors they added to it but if the manufacturer is that cheap, most likely the product itself is also cheap. Marketing advice: you want your product to shine, maybe add one blade that's super sharp and will make your product work magic, rather than have 20 or more cheap blades that will do nothing. Or sell it without blades if you're that tight on margins. At least, me as a customer would expect to bring my own preferred grad blade rather than discovering this on the spot while I'm already in shaving mode. The reason for 1 start is not just because of this poor marketing game but also this gives me a strong impression that we're cutting similar corners to save money on the product itself!

Old time shave
I have always been interested in history. This is a new twist on an old shaving technique. It uses double edge razer blades. I got on utube to learn how to use it. Have to hold it at a 30 degree angle from my face. It takes patients, caution and skill to use it. I nicked my face once and it was minor. Feels good to shave the same way my ancestors and father in his early years did. Update. I now have 2 nicks. Just because I got in too big a hurry. Have to think before I shave.
