The Sony sensor and quality optics combination used by SV3C are stunning
On unboxing, I followed the quick start guide included with the camera’s accessories. The app, CamHI, from Apple’s iStore – was easy to find and quick to download. It took less than ten minutes to configure and boot up the camera – all PTZ functions including audio were immediately available and worked well with the CamHi user-friendly App. You will not need a separate amplifier or speaker. The SV3C camera has a great amp and waterproof microphone/speaker built in, enabling a clear conversation with your outside caller without opening your front door – all from your smartphone app!On my iPhone, the image quickly snapped into view. I was amazed at the fine acuity of the image. In daylight, autofocusing was almost instant and a very sharp image with excellent depth of field. The Sony 335 Sensor combined with the camera’s high-quality optical lens really makes a difference. Using the 5 x optical zoom facility I was delighted to find it was pin sharp at any focal length. There is a focusing button in the app, but only needs to be used in very low light or total darkness, when illumination is solely via the LEDs and weak ambient light. Another nice feature is, in low light, the ten large LEDs glow red and provide a very noticeable deterrent to would-be perpetrators. This is now the third SV3C camera I have purchased, albeit my only PTZ camera. The quality of the product is very high as I have come to expect from SV3C. I have a collection of CCTV cameras, 2mp, 5mp and 8mp. This one is by far the best image quality of my collection. The images resolved are clearer and finer than my (ASECAM) 4K 8mp camera. The Sony sensor and quality optical combination used by SV3C are stunning.Panning and tilting give full 180-degree coverage of the front of my house. The stepper motors are smooth and even close up, almost silent. Remarkably in daylight, as the camera moves, for example tracking a moving object, it stays in focus, focusing on the fly. A feature I have not seen before at this price in a PTZ camera. Inferior cameras tend to move and then when the movement stops, they re-focus.The free iPhone app, CamHI is the latest iteration. I believe it was released in April 2021. It is the most comprehensive iPhone camera app I have come across to date. I rate it highly as user friendly, with full PTZ functionality, including two-way audio. If you don’t want to go to the expense of an NVR, just pop a memory card into this PTZ camera’s slot and playback the recorded events - all from your smartphone’s app.The camera itself is relatively small and unobtrusive. It is of all-metal construction and has a well-made feel to it. I carried out initial testing by connecting it up without using the POE feature to a standard Cat 5e Ethernet cable. The kit comes with a power supply rated at 2000ma. Using the power supply contained in the kit it performed faultlessly. The following day I mounted it on the front of my house at a height of 3.8 meters/12’6”. Mounting the camera was straightforward. The metal mounting bracket provides a very solid mount. All fixings are supplied in the kit. Electronically it has one main cable that splits into three.Lead 1 is the RJ45 Ethernet data lead, which uses one of the four pairs for power over Ethernet, (POE).Lead 2 is for connecting and powering it via the supplied small power supply. Only used if you are not using a powered switch or POE NVR.Lead 3 is terminated with a reset button and an integral waterproof cover, a good feature if you get in a mess with your configuration or forget the default password. To connect it, I used Cat5e solid copper cable connecting via an 80mm x 80mm IP55 junction box by Schneider - £2.05 from Screwfix. It offers good outdoor weatherproof protection. All connectors and leads fit comfortably inside this small box.In service, I connected the camera to my Netgear POE switch, which in turn was connected to my Annke Helm 4K 8 port, POE network video recorder, (NVR) and then on to the outside world via my SKY router.I am currently running Hikvision client software, on my Annke NVR which is comprehensive and user friendly in use. Available free of charge as a download from Hikvision, it comes with an excellent user manual written in perfect English. The SV3C PTZ camera works seamlessly with this combination of hardware and software. To connect the camera I used the ONVIF protocol, on port 8080. I configured the camera with a static IP address, which provided seamless connectivity and enabled all the features of the camera.I have also tested it using Annke’s own software, which is perfectly satisfactory and supplied with the NVR. It is called, “Guarding Vision Client”. However, the instruction manuals have been converted from Chinese to English and are not as easy to understand as Hikvision’s client software manuals. Which are in perfect English. I have also tested the camera with CMS software again it works fine. For visuals of the quality images produced by this camera in wide-angle and maximum 5 times optical zoom. See the attached images and range’s I have marked on the images. I have had to reduce the size of the images to upload for this Amazon review. If you want or need a 5-megapixel PTZ camera, at this price the SV3C Model, (SD8POE-5MP-HX) is astounding value for money and will not disappoint.

Good camera - fun to integrate - but beware! Calls home to china/usa!
Overall, very pleased with the cameras (bought 2 , and intend to buy a third) but you need to understand IT/ IP networks to get the best out of it.If you value the privacy of your video footage you will also need a good outbound firewall. Why ? This camera gets homesick and makes oubound connections to China, and when you block the connection to China it instead tries to connect to a chinese owned server in the USA. In the end I just set up a firewall rule that said "from any camera to internet - DROP + LOG"And that stopped it. Dont say you werent warned!Full configuration requires an older version of internet explorer (edge and chrome work sufficiently - but not fully).Image quality is VERY good at the price point and night vision is likewise superb.I integrated this sucessfully with tinycam monitor pro on Android, motioneye on Linux, and with VLC on windows. It IS possible to get PTZ working with motioneye but you will need Wireshark to follow the http and some linux scripting knowledge. (Hint "Action buttons" + curl - 2 Curl commands needed per button feature)So in summary , quite happy, but Im a die hard techie with many decades of industry systems integration experience.Knowing what I know now, I will still be buying a third. But you MUST firewall the heck out of themHope someone finds this useful!Foreign hosts ports that these try to connect to:UDP 112.74.55.1 PORT 32100UDP 47.57.188.14 PORT 32100UDP 112.74.55.1 PORT 32100UDP 47.251.39.15 PORT 32100around 15000 attempts to break out a day even now, 2 years after the original review

Returned
Well made product with heavy metal casing. Daytime image was OK but nightime the sensor went crazy with day/night mode constantly switching back and forth leading to flashing images that were unusable. The item was returned to Amazon for a refund.

Good camera, great night vision. Payed Reviews
I have been struggling with H.VIEW cameras for the past couple of years. When adding a PTZ camera to my arsenal I thought I would try someone different and I am really pleased with this SV3C model. You can access the memory card over the network which is a big bonus, and picture quality is good.Review changed to 1 star as the manufacturer has no plans (isn't capable?) to update the web interface to use HTML5 instead of the now obsolete Flash Player.
