Every Creature Has a Story: What Science Reveals about Animal Behaviour

An Excellent Journey
#Every_Creature_Has_a_Story, a repertoire of essays by Janaki Lenin highlighting amazing behavior of the animals appeared to me as "The Celebration of Life".🐺🐍🐀🦍🐳🕷️🐝🐾Probably a week ago I came across this gem in Amazon while looking for trash to drain my fellowship and just bought it without reading any review.I knew Janaki as a Science journalist from The Wire but didn't know she already published two other books on animal behavior. I started reading this book casually and it took me to a journey across the world, sometimes sitting in the jungles of Madagascar looking at spiders enjoying oral sex with my eyes popped out and sometimes struggling with Matabele ants in Africa to carry the wounded comrades back to the den.I didn't know earlier that Elephants don't get cancer or... Toxoplasma summon the rodents to pounce themselves on hungry cats or... the Great Frigate birds sleep in the air while migrating over the oceans or... the Australian Firehawks use blazing sticks to set a valley on fire to prey on escaping rodents, reptiles and insects....!!!!!Frankly speaking, despite being a biologist, I didn't know any of the shocking animal behaviours beautifully written over these 230 pages. It will always remain a very special book to me not only for my academics but also in the journey of appreciating the wonders of life as such.❤️ ❤️ ❤️If you are a biologist and think animals are amazing.. go.. read the book! If you are a non biologist and think animals are just stupid creatures and there is nothing to learn from them... You must grab the book today!!!

An impressive compilation of scientific facts about animals
If you are a regular reader of ‘The Hindu’ and ‘The Wire’, Janaki Lenin’s interesting articles on animals would not have missed your notice. With a renowned herpetologist husband and with her impressive work on studying wildlife, she has extraordinary tales to tell. This book is a compilation of some of her best writings on the most fascinating creatures that co-exist with us on this wonderful planet. The author talks about mammals, reptiles, birds and insects - their lives, quirks and survival. I am a fan of her book ‘My husband and other animals’ and I love this one even more. This time she quotes from scientific journals and describes wildlife researches conducted around the globe to study some of the most elusive and enthralling animals. It is a delight to read facts about a variety of beasts in her trademark humorous and simple style of writing. This book, with an eye-grabbing cover, is yet another feather to her cap and if you love animals (or don’t), grab a copy and dive into an adventure to admire the marvel called Nature.

Fascinating world of Animals
Reading should be fun while also a learning experience. Books are something I like for it helps one dream and think about why, when and where. Each chapter of this book -" Every Creature Has a Story" is a fun filled learning experience. Well detailed, obviously backed by research and an in-depth study, this is a must read for all who wish to understand species beyond ourselves. Kudos to Janaki for her effort!

Can be still better in case where a normal reader can understand.
As a wildlife enthusiast, i expected some good pictures to be more live while reading. At the same time, the words are quite complicated to understand.
