Spectrum Culinary Organic Canola Oil, 16 fl. oz.

Canola oil has been my preferred cooking oil for a long time because of its high omega-3 content (which is supposed to be healthy), and I think it tastes good on just about anything (rice, bread, scrambled eggs, ...) I use canola oil in place of butter, and I often combine the two, which is both more healthy because of the lower concentration of saturated fat and tastes better to me than butter by itself.Then I started reading rumors that a lot of canola oil is genetically modified, which ran in complete contradiction to the health benefits I thought I was getting. So I checked the bottles of different brands at a few local grocery stores, but none of them said whether they were GMO or not.I wanted some reassurance, so I started buying this organic canola oil from a distant store about an hour from my house (which recently had a bare shelf, which is the reason I had the oil shipped this week). This oil explicitly says "Non-GMO" right on the front of the bottle, it still tastes good, but unlike the more popular brands of canola oil at my local stores, 99% of the time the oil doesn't run down the side of the bottle and make a mess.The bottles are glass, and if you're concerned about something fragile like this being shipped, I can tell you that the two bottles I ordered came wrapped in (thin) plastic bubble wrap with a few large plastic air bubbles in the box. I might have liked to see a few more inches of padding, but what I received didn't have any scratches or damage whatsoever, so maybe it's safe enough.Another concern I initially had were expiration dates, having no way to verify what's available in the warehouse before placing an order. I was relieved to see that the two bottles I received were marked about 1.5 years into the future, which were the same dates I found on the shelf at that distant store.So basically what I was shipped was just as good as the bottles of oil I had been buying in-person, except that I didn't have to drive an hour back and forth to get it. Maybe someday organic canola oil will become as easy to find as the beloved extra-virgin olive oil, but until then I might be having it shipped to me on a regular basis.

This canola oil is a great and healthy oil to use for saute or in recipes.

This organic canola oil is the best! And I especially like that it comes in a glass jar. I hate buying organic products that come in plastic! The consistency and flavor are perfect.

The only oil I like that tastes great. Not fond of olive oil or vinegar or sauces or other cheap canolas. This is the only product that doesn't agitate my stomach. I put it in pasta.

I have been purchasing Spectrum oil for years, usually in my local grocery stores when I can find it. I purchased it through Amazon and it arrived nicely packaged. Bubble wrap was encased around the glass bottle. . My issue was concerning a statement on the backside of the oil. Bottled in a facility that produces peanut oil. I have a family member with a peanut allergy. So since there might exist a chance for cross contamination, I have to give the oil away. I don’t recall reading this on prior bottles of Spectrum oil.

I have been using this product for years and love it. It was cheaper on Amazon and I was skeptical of shipping a glass bottle, but it worked out fine and was nicely wrapped with bubble wrap.

A smaller container of olive oil that can be used for traveling. Wrap it in a sock since the container is glass.
