UPDATED: Didn’t last 6 months
After posting the below review, the manufacturer reached out to me and offered a full refund. I asked if I could get a replacement instead, and they sent one out right away. Within two days I had a new timer and am once again really happy with how it’s working for me. 5+ stars for customer service, and the timer really is a nice one.I originally really loved this timer, it worked great and did exactly what I needed it to. However, after 5 months it stopped working. I was hoping it just needed new batteries, but it was completely dead. There is no warranty information anywhere on either amazons site or the manufacturers site. So it appears I’m stuck with trying to find a timer that will hopefully last at least long enough for the batteries to run down.

Works great for a passive watering system
I use a rain barrel to water my garden. That way, I can fill the barrel (when needed) without worrying about watering. This control uses AAA batteries, which last the season. They work well with low-pressure systems like rain barrels because they don't need any water pressure to open. A 50-gallon barrel needs to be filled every two weeks (my garden is fairly small). This is good because our home is about 2 hours from this garden location (a cabin).I'm setting up my second watering system with a barrel/controller (at home this time). That is why I'm very confident this controller will be exactly what I need.

Good timer, but...
Excellent design and super easy to set-up. The cover has a nice seal that should protect it from water getting inside. I am concerned about the clear plastic cover being blasted by sunlight every day. I suspect that it will wear and be less clear after a summer. I plan on turning it upside down to try to prevent so much sun exposure. I would have given this product 5 stars, but the timer doesn't start after programming it, but rather at the end of the frequency interval that it's set at, so if the timer is set for every 72 hours, it won't start for 3 days! This is a really stupid thing to overlook, as you may not be around to see it working and to adjust the flow settings. I've never seen a water timer that does this, and it really is an inconvenience to the user who is trying to set up their irrigation. I would have ordered more of these timers right now had it not been for this feature that doesn't allow the user to confirm the settings in the beginning. I will have to see if the product delivers over time before ordering any more. Otherwise, it's a sleek and easy timer for the garden.

Cheap and won’t last
DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE WE DID! Thought these were perfect for our multiple raised beds that had different watering requirements, and Amazon’s quick delivery was excellent. Shame on me for not reading other reviews: They lasted one season only!. As I started planting this spring, ALL had water inside the battery compartment and no longer functioned. Since there is no guarantee on these, we are out the $100+ (have 5.). Purchasing a model from Home Depot at 2x the price. Since we know they’re guaranteed for 6 years, worth the investment to avoid this future headache.
