Good sturdy holster

This is a perfect holster.
If you have a Colt Python especially... this is the holster!! I searched throughout a HUGE gun show and found nothing that worked well and there were many vendors. Apparently a Colt Python is very unique and specific design and only a holster designed for it will work perfectly. You can find others that "work", but nothing like this one. This holster is a PERFECT fit and really comfortable. I am a licensed carrier in Texas and prefer to carry outside the waistband. This holster is very comfortable and stays put when wearing. The holster holds the weapon tightly to prevent accidental drops but not so tight you can't draw if needed. It holds the weapon close to my waist making it very easy to conceal with even just a T-Shirt. You cannot tell I am carrying a weapon of this size. I like everything about it and I am VERY PLEASED. This will be my primary carry holster, hands down.

Too tight for my 3” Python.
I should have known in advance, since almost ALL leather holsters you buy online arrive too tight, requiring "breaking-in" (which is nonsense - that should be done at the factory as part of the manufacturing process).Anyway, even with the retention tightness adjustment bolt let out completely, it didn’t allow enough room for my 3” Python to fit into the holster. I had to completely disengage and remove the retention nut & bolt for the opening to open wide enough to allow full insertion of the Python. The two leather extensions that had held the retention bolt assembly no longer served any purpose, so I cut them off to allow unfettered insertion of the Python into the holster. It’s still tighter than I would like, but at least I can now snugly secure the gun in the holster.This reinforces my usual policy: Don’t buy any leather holster sight-unseen! Only buy leather that you can personally try your handgun in, on-site! Or, stick to ordering Kydex, or soft holsters like DeSantis, Sticky, Uncle Mike’s etc. Buying a leather holster online is a roll of the dice, at best!

Flimsy
Nice looking holster and for a smaller, lighter firearm it would probably fit the bill. I however was looking to use it with a 2" colt python and because of the added heft it felt like the holster was going to separate from the paddle.
