A Guar Gum That Will Make Your Food Thicker and Better
I bought this guar gum to use as a thickener and stabiliser for my cooking and baking. I have a gluten intolerance, so I can’t use wheat flour or corn starch to thicken my sauces, soups, or desserts. I wanted a guar gum that was gluten-free, non-GMO, and vegan-friendly. I chose the yourhealthstore Guar Gum 250g because it had good reviews and a reasonable price. Here are some of the pros and cons of this guar gum:One of the pros of this guar gum is that it is very effective and versatile as a thickener and stabiliser. It can thicken hot or cold liquids without changing their flavour or colour. It can also prevent ice crystals from forming in frozen desserts or syneresis (water separation) in dairy products. You only need a small amount of guar gum to achieve the desired consistency.Another pro of this guar gum is that it is very easy to use and store. It comes in a resealable pouch that keeps it fresh and dry. You can easily measure the amount you need with a teaspoon or a scale. You can also dissolve it in water or any other liquid before adding it to your recipe.A third pro of this guar gum is that it is very healthy and natural. It is made from the ground endosperm of guar beans, which are legumes grown in India and Pakistan. It is gluten-free, non-GMO, vegan-friendly, kosher, halal, and low in calories. It also has some health benefits such as lowering cholesterol levels, improving blood sugar control, and promoting digestive health. One of the cons of this guar gum is that it might cause some side effects if you consume too much of it or if you are allergic to it. Some people might experience bloating, gas, diarrhoea, cramps, or nausea after eating foods with guar gum. Some people might also have an allergic reaction such as itching, swelling, hives, or difficulty breathing.Another con of this guar gum is that it might not work well with some recipes or ingredients that require high temperatures or acidic conditions. Guar gum might lose its thickening ability when heated above 80°C (176°F) or when exposed to acidic foods such as lemon juice or vinegar.A third con of this guar gum is that it might not be very easy to find or buy in your local supermarket or grocery store. You might have to order it online from Amazon UK (or Amazon US) or look for it in specialised health food stores.Overall, I think this is a guar gum that will make your food thicker and better if you need a gluten-free, non-GMO, and vegan-friendly thickener and stabiliser for your cooking and baking. It’s not the most convenient or compatible option out there, but it’s definitely one of the most effective and versatile ones.If this review was helpful, please press the helpful button below!

Gamechanger
A tiny amount of this guar gum in any ninja creami recipe guarantees smooth perfect ice cream results, even if using fat free/nut milk. A ninja game changer.

Excellect binding and good quality
It is pretty safe to use for a variety of foods and easy to blend it. I avoid many top brands such as Encona Pepper Sauce because it contains alittle ingredients, some flavours are slightly bitter and the cost is more than £1.50. Therefore, I make my own pepper sauce. Be sure that you learn how to correct the amount of guar gum to thicken the liquid. e.g how to make a pepper sauce:1. Place one and half teaspoon of guar gum plus 400ml water into a tall plastic cylinder bowl2. One spoon each - paprika, chilli, onion powder, one spoon of concentrated tomato paste and some salt.3. Use a hand blender to blend them all until it becomes thick. You can use Guar Gum to thicken curry sauce, baken bean sauce, custard, etc.

Good for gluten free baking
I use this for a lot of my gluten free bakes and often sub it for xantham gum if the recipe asks for it, (pastry for example) and it seems to work well.
