Great first instrument
When I first got her one of the pickups didn't work but I had someone look at it (music teacher) and they fixed it up for me it's a great first instrument holds a tune I changed out the strings on mine and it doesn't come with that strap in the picture but definitely a solid first instrument I'm happy with it best bang for the buck

Electronics are a dud
Bass looks amazing but none of the hardware works, at first thought the battery was dead. Replaced it but none of the electronics work through an amp.

Despite some substabntial flaws, there are redemptions.
This is definitely the best, worst and only neck-thru 5-string at $300 At least for a lefty. You've probably already figured to temper your expectations, but here are the highs and lows in my view. The action and neck are really VERY good. The fretboard itself is a composite, so I don't know how well it will "ring" and/or transfer energy. But playability (after setup...which can be extensive) is very good. That's probably the best feature and ultimately why I tolerated the foibles. The devilish details. There are lots of errors, like it was built by a student. The nut was set too low. That was the biggest problem. The bridge was set so low my wrist got tired raising it. 1.5mm btw. The right side body piece has an 1/8" shim laminated against the neck for some reason, the whole way through. Reasonably well concealed, but still....why? The routing around the pickups is just bad. The mono output jack fit poorly.Perhaps the most dubious and concerning is the base of the neck was sanded too thin where it meets the body. Just very amateurish work, but unlikely to affect much. For some that's too much to overlook. Understandably so.The electronics....well, I'm a professional audio engineer and by my standard...yeah, they're bad. The pickups are unbalanced, particularly on the low B. The active preamp/eq controls...aren't terrible, and it's possible to get some tone that resembles really high end systems. But they're also confusingly fiddly and ineffective. Like they couldn't figure out how to widen the eq bands. But high volume, decent tone and somewhat low noise. The included strings are ok. The gig bag a nice bonus for some.So why keep it? I genuinely asked myself. And for me...well I like to muck around. The question being, if I fix all the fixable stuff, add a good pickup, do I end up with a very good bass? Are the problems insurmountable. Mostly no, it's an ok baseline (pun!) for improvement. I'll likely pop a single pickup in the bridge slot, better strings and go around the electronics. On the other side of things, if you're just starting out it. It's a good...but tricky choice. You get A LOT of bang for the buck here, mistakes or no. BUT you'll need to either learn to set it up or bring it to someone who can.

Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship.
This is an absolutely beautiful guitar at almost any price! I even opened up the back of it to look at the electronics and they were done so beautifully I have never seen this on on any guitar before. It looks like they took great care in making sure this was a superior product. Inside and out!! Get one before the prices go up😎🤘🏼
