All New Building Decks Paperback – Illustrated, December 1, 2015

I was looking for a basic book for myself as a beginner deck builder. This is way more than that, with details to design and build complicated decks as well. Covers most everything about deck building I think.

Best for making improvements with this book to repair what the previous owner did to the house by building the patio floor wood touching the house causes condensation inside the walls which caused me to have the exterior door replaced, etc. Now I feel more comfortable planning to make changes by building an exterior screened greenhouse.

I needed to learn about decking for a project and class I was taking. Simple and informative for a non contractor.

StraIght to the point and full of tips and ideas.

I wanted a simplified 101 deck building book- this is not the book for me. It’s vey detailed with extremely detailed plans rather than simplified plans. May be good for a carpenter but not a novice like me.

Great book, very thorough

My husband first checked this book out from the Library along with several other books to research how to build a deck. Out of all of the books he looked at this was his favorite one and so I ordered it for him. I'm sure he will use it a lot when building our new entry deck. Would recommend it to others getting ready to do that type of project.
