AKG Pro Audio CGN99H/L Hypercardioid Condenser Gooseneck Microphone - Large, Black

I bought this on accident and kept it anyway because, as a sound mixer, you can never have too many mics. Surely, I would use it someday. That day came, and it sounded much better than I expected it to for $175. I'm used to listening to mics that start at $1200 and into the multi-thousands from location sound mics on Netflix sets to Neuman mics for VOs and everything in between. It surprisingly works even below the minimum voltage it requires. I got a decent signal at 5V and it sounds best at 48V. It was abused quite a bit and it still works great. It's heavy and built like a tank. Ever since I rediscovered it, it keeps surprising me how well it sounds for a cheap mic. For a lectern mic, the proximity to the speaker gives it a huge advantage beating out mics thousands of dollars more that can't get close enough for wide shots.
