Amazing product for those who've seen the movie (though smaller than I thought)
Really fun toy! For those who've seen the movie, the first time you spin you may think you're in a dream! If spun well, you can get about a min and a half of spinning. My record is 2min and 15 seconds. The only complaint I have is that it's only 1 inch tall when I expected it to be a little bit bigger. Also the spinner gets old after about a week but its still a really cool trinket to mess with every so often. I think it may be a little over-priced but this is made up for since its the same model as in the movie.

Best top
I ordered 3 tops, this is by far the best looking and spins the steadiest!

Nice little top
Nice little top that spins well and for a long time. The only flaw is the surface of the metal is so smooth that it is difficult to grasp it tight enough to spin it hard. It is also quite small, but still good for the money.

Not as cool as I thought it would be
Its a fun little thing to play around with when on a phone call, but I thought the finish would be a bit nicer. A little hard to spin since the top part tapers. If I knew then, what I know now, I'd have bought the brass one with the knurled top for better grip when spinning.

This top works pretty well. At $2
This top works pretty well. At $2.50 and no shipping, I was not sure how good it could be. I don't understand how anyone can make a profit off it. I assume these were made for the movie and never sold, so someone else bought them for pennies on the dollar. Outside of that, it seems unlikely you can ship these from China at that price and make money. The top spins very well. With a reasonably good twist it will spin for about 55-60 seconds before it starts to wobbles. Overall with the end wobbles, it spins for about 80 seconds. I saw at least one top out there for $45 and I would be curious how much better it could be. The shipping time was about 35 days as it came from China. The top was in good condition with no marks. On the bottom it has the words inception engraved it in. The case is a small aluminum (i guess) box and it comes with a dice for whatever reason. That is a basic plastic die that is found in any cheap game. I am not even sure why I wrote a review of this item, but I still find it funny that this can ship from China as a one item purchase for $2.50 and be as good or better than advertised. I also find it funny that tops are also selling for $50 on-line. Overall I would buy this again if I ever find I have a need for another top. However one top in my life is probably enough.

worked real good
The totem I received came in the tin with the die which is pretty impressive for the price. I was a little let down by the fact the word INCEPTION was etched on the underside of the totem. It would be more authentic without that touch. The first time I spun it I just happened to have put it on a perfectly smooth, perfectly flat surface. After about twenty seconds it spun so perfectly that it appeared (from a distance of a few feet) to be frozen in the standing position. I could perceive no wobbling. After about a full minute of it appearing to be perfectly still (and appearing to defy gravity and logic), part of me legitimately considered that I might have at some unremembered pointed damned myself to unwakeable dreamscape for a million eternities. I know it is stupid but my heart jumped a little, even though I was very conscious of the optical illusion. It seems to be extremely well balanced for the price. I have no complaints.

Poorly made, teensy tiny & unable to spin with my large fingers/hands.
100% Worthless. Not giftable. The shaft is SO tiny I honestly can't grip it enough to spin it for even 10 seconds & most attempts fail entirely. Maybe if the shaft or my fingers were rubber coated but that's not an option. The listing says, "Item Dimensions LxWxH 3.1 x 3 x 3 inches" it's actually approx 1x1x1 inches.pThe very top end is actually sharp. Not enough to cut the skin but it's a flaw at best. The entire surface is not smooth& mirror-like as a lathe turned item would be. The cost is too low for a turned top IMHO & I didn't expect it to be turned. it wouldn't matter if it worked. A spinning top with these criteria is a tiny paperweight at best. Scrap is the only worthy category for this hunk 'o' junk. Extremely disappointed. Packaging is nice though. Whoop-dee-doo

Cool top, looks just like the one in the movie Inception.
I bought this because I just recently watched the movie Inception. Btw, great movie. Anyway, it's shinier and nicer looking in person. Spun correctly, it spins for quite good time. I'm using it on a convex glass I purchased for this purpose. When centered and spinning perfectly, it almost looks like it's in suspended animation. Very happy with this product. It came in a nice round tin with an extra gift. In my case, it was a single red dice. The machining could be a tad better though. Has little spots around the rim that are a little sharp. I tried to sand them, but realized the inner color of the top was now showing. For the price, I can't complain though. I do tend to expect perfection, when good enough should suffice, however.
