They work well for repairing ruptured finger tendons if you are patient.
I bought these various items because I did not know what size would fit my finger with the ruptured tendon. The largest size works well for me. As a note, the largest size will likely not fit really huge fingers. The Velcro wears out fast. Just buy a roll of clear bandage tape ahead of time at Amazon and you will be good to go. Another note; from my experience, You need to leave the splint on for at least 3 months before you remove it if you have a ruptured finger tendon. You can remove the splint daily to very carefully wash and dry the finger. Be really easy on that finger for another several months after removing the splint, or the tendon can easily tear off again. These splints do work in the long run, but you need to give adequate time for the tendon to reattach and heal enough before removing the splint, and then baby that finger for a long time afterwards.

Good Selection
My clinic gave me an undersized, narrow splint when I detached a distal extensor tendon. He tried several and didn't admit it but it was obvious they didn't have the size needed for my middle finger. Same day we ordered these. Didn't see the bill yet but I'll bet that one poorly fitting brace will be multiples of what this whole set costs. I took the two largest out and have been rotating them through along with an aluminum splint from the local pharmacy for night time. I figure-8 a rubber band around the brace and down to my lower finger because if it slips off, your in trouble tendon wise. I also bought some rolls of Coban to hold them on for daily use. Hint: Anything you wrap(coban, ace bandage, etc.) should be in a figure 8 so as not to constrict. Never just spiral around. Look that up. Some RNs I worked with couldn't even get the hang of it.Once held on, you can run, cycle, work, lift stuff, sleep, etc without worrying it will slip off. Typing or gaming will be an issue! Be careful if wearing these inside work gloves as the glove can tug at them when working. You do not want that finger tip to fall out of the splint!Size numbers are a bit non-standard but a great variety set for a great price.

terrible product
This product is useless as a finger splint. I'm going to try to explain why:My left pinky is broken at the last phalanx, just past the last joint. I have to wear a splint for about six weeks. It can't ever come off - if I bend the last joint even once, the splint-wearing clock starts over (or so the doctor told me). The picture shows the splint that the doctor gave me. It's held on by tape. It holds the last joint straight, but if you tape it correctly, it allows you to bend the second-to-last joint. I tried to show that in the picture. You have to tape it on the second phalanx. If you taped it on the third phalanx, then you wouldn't be able to bend the second joint either (and that makes life harder - trust me).OK, so this product: first of all, the velcro that secures it to your finger is positioned so that it's on the third phalanx. So even if the splint worked, you would not be able to bend the second joint (so your entire finger would be held straight while wearing the splint). BUT, it also doesn't stay on. Naively, I thought that the velcro might work better than tape. It does not. I cinched it as tight as I could, but it pulls off easily. If you used this type of splint, you'd have to be super careful all the time that you didn't accidentally knock your splint off.I guess this product might be OK if you don't really NEED a splint, but you're just using it casually. But I wouldn't recommend it if you have a broken finger or a joint injury and you really need the last joint to be immobile.

Velcro strap eliminates taping.
This item is perfect. This item is better than what was given to me from the Dr. office. The velcro strap eliminates the need for tapeing and holds the form in place.Great product. I give it 5 stars and recommend it.

Not large enough
The set includes various sized covers for various fingers. The largest one was not large enough for my thumb. It looks like this would be effective and useful for smaller fingers. I'm disappointed but if you have small fingers, this would be a good product for protecting your wounded fingertips.

Does what it is supposed to
My fingernails are coming off as a result of a year of chemotherapy for breast cancer. My middle finger on my right hand came off to soon. Very painful and kept on bleeding basically because I kept hitting it even with a bandage on it. These are assorted sizes so the correct size wasn’t hard to find. The splint cradled the finger with a nice gap at the top for protection of the finger and the nail. The rigidity of the material is perfect to keep the finger tip protected. I have more healing in the 3 days that I have had it on than the previous 3 weeks. I have added a small strip of surgical tape around the base but have left the splint unaltered. This keeps it from sliding. Very easy to used the computer and do all of my chores with it on. Sleeping with it on is also no problem. Washes well and wipes off easily.

Painful
While it works to keep your finger straight, it’s difficult to keep in place, and the split down the minis already causing a pressure ulcer. I’ve only been wearing the splint for the past 11 hours.would not recommend.
