Sew sew fine!
This is a nice motor. Sew quiet, sew slow and sew fast. I bought it to replace a clutch motor for my industrial machine. It has the same bolt pattern as my old motor so bolt up was a snap. I did have to buy a smaller V belt but that was a breeze at the auto parts store.I really can’t say enough good about this motor, it’s just what I was needing to be able to sew leather at a speed slow enough to do radius on thicker leather. I can’t believe it took me so long to decide to change motors. I no longer dread the thought of using my machine. I can now control the speed the machine sews. If you are on the fence about this motor, I can assure you this is a great asset to your sewing needs.

AMAZINGLY QUIET MOTOR, WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!
I bought a second hand industrial machine some years ago and my husband refused to allow me to use it because of the huge, heavy, loud motor. This Christmas I decided it was time to use my investment, so we set out to research to see if we could find a quiet motor which could do the same job. We found this motor on amazon and I bought it. Skeptical, but lets give it a try. This motor is worth it. It is so quiet, yet so powerful that no one in my home even knows that I am sewing. I wish that I had found it earlier. A friend of mines who owns an upholstery shop saw it and has decided to change all his old motors. I recommend this very highly. Definitely worth the investment. Thanks Amazon.

Doesn't go to zero
This motor seemed like it would be great to try to step down my industrial walking foot sewing machine. The dial claims that it goes to zero but it really doesn't start spinning until about 600rpm. I'm sewing leather and need a machine to go VERY slowly to turn tight corners on small leather items. I ended up with a Sailrite and I couldn't be more happy. This unit is probably great for a more modern machine that doesn't really need to crawl along but for a leather machine.. meh. I'll keep it as an emergency backup though because it's not a terrible motor.

Excellent electric motor gives me very slow motion for control ...
Excellent electric motor gives me very slow motion for control of difficult sewing of thick leather pieces. With the dial set to low, the motor gives my Pfaff 1245 about 5-7 stitches per minute. It will also easily run up to high speed with the twist of the selector dial. Plenty of power in the motor to drive the needle through two or three pieces of 8-9 ounce bull hide. Shipping was good. I expect to have many years of service from this electric sewing motor.

Not what I ordered, misrepresented on Amazon.
I ordered a heavier duty version of this motor, one that weighed nearly twice as much as the one I received. I wanted the heavier duty motor so that it wouldn't bog down at slow speeds while sewing heavier goods. What I received was this lighter duty motor. It is like ordering, and paying for, a full size, crew cab, work truck and getting a light duty standard cab. Will it work? Probably, but with frustration. Other reviewers of the heavier model said that the heavier motor worked fine at low speeds.I am also disappointed with the speed control on this motor. I was expecting something like the dial on a radio that a user could select speeds from zero to the motor maximum. This dial has detents, the first is zero, the next is too fast for detail work in tight spaces. I had to attach a foot pedal restrictor to aid the operator from inadvertently going too fast while doing detail work. With the restrictor in place you can adjust the dial up to speed things along. I paid extra for the heavy duty motor, and I also paid freight for the motor, something I would not have to had to do with the motor I received. Other reviewers had the same issue with their orders, something to be wary of.

This motor slows my Juki 563 to one stitch at a time. Or full Speed. Easily control stich speed for all sewing jobs..
