90% Perfect
The door was pretty easy to install, as we were just replacing another PetSafe door of the same size. We did need to run to the store to get longer screws, but that may have been specific to our main door. Once installed, you can notice immediate improvement in the magnetic seal. The area by our back door was significantly less chilly. It also holds up to some fair wind, and it gets very windy where we live. Today we’re getting wind gusts of 20mph, and the door does open during those bigger gusts, and then immediately closes again with the magnet. We made the decision to close the dog door, but that’s the first time we’ve had to do that for weather since we installed it a week ago. We were doing that daily with our previous dog door. The potential savings on utility bills is worth the price of this door!

Good price for good quality
This dog door was fairly simple to install. It is made well and seals nicely. We have had great success with getting our dogs to use it. Our large dog has no problem using it as well so the size is good! Overall good value for the money.

Great product and company
This is our second door from postage. Had to replace the old one as the changed sizes and no longer made flaps to replace the old one. Ordered this one and it was very close to the same but a bit bigger. Also much nicer with the insulated flap in the middle. I did have an issue with a plastic piece that broke in the mounting system, but when I contacted the company they replaced it right away with no issues.

A nice XL dog door that could be so much better.
We have the Extreme Weather XL dog door for our 85 lb Boxer and 140 lb Cane Corso. I would give it 5 stars for the first 6 months, 4 stars for the next 6 months, and 3 stars after the 1-year mark.I was impressed with the quality and fit when I received the door, the problem is it didn't hold up for long. "Extreme Weather" is misleading, at best I would say it's a 3-flap version. Due to the size of an XL large door, nothing keeps the weather out, especially on windy days. I hoped for a little more considering it's called "Extreme Weather" and was a more expensive. I'm having to replace the flaps more often, the 6-screw design helps avoid tearing where the screw holds the flap. After a year the bottom edges of the flaps began tearing evenly about two inches from the bottom (same on both flaps, inside and outside, and the left and right side). They all tore the same, it's apparent it needs someone to revisit the design and material. Other issues with the material are shrinkage and bowing of the outside flaps. The center flap, insulating flap, comes apart along both seams. The center flap is basically a piece of thin foam sandwiched between two heat sealed pieces of plastic. It doesn't appear they "designed" an XL large, weather resistant door, for large breed dogs. They just made a larger dog door based on their other models. I don't think consideration was given to the size of the dogs hitting that flap dozens of times per day, or the force of the wind on the larger door. The material looks identical to the smaller door we had and doesn't hold up to large dogs. The first time I used the large plastic cover to block it on a windy day I didn't notice the Cane Corso was still outside. Not a problem, she hit it at full puppy speed knocking the cover clear across the room, popping several of the screws out of the frame. She was very excited with her accomplishment.I can't imagine a home without a dog door. They use it night and day, sometimes just to stick their head out to check the weather. We had a large dog door until our new pup had trouble squeezing through. The large door worked very well. I saved it for the future. We replaced the flap every 2-3 years and needed to make a better attachment system due to the flaps tearing near the screws and plastic attachments breaking.

Easy installation and 3 layers of flaps keeps drafts out.
The media could not be loaded. We had bought this model 4 years ago and were very happy with it however, the edges of the door flaps were getting worn and letting cold air in around it. Replacing all three flaps would have cost nearly as much as new model so that’s how we decided to just get new one. This one has an updated door to close it with that is easy to use. We have 3 dogs whom we love dearly and we love giving them the opportunity to go outside in the fenced in yard as they see fit. Two of the three are very lazy and chose to stay inside the majority of the time but when they sense a squirrel encroaching they can go outside on their own to try to catch it. We highly recommend!!!

Dog freedom
This door has lasted longer than any other door I've bought over the years. It's easy to install.

Very sturdy dog door
This is a pretty impressive dog door and actually feels like it's worth the (pretty high) price. It is mentioned in the product information but worth noting that it does have THREE flaps, not one, with the middle flap being there for insulation and the outer two to close the door. We got one of the largest sized doors and out 75 pound shepherd mix and our 55 pound bulldog mix have been able to run through it at pretty much the same time with no damage to the door. Them doing that on our previous dog door nearly ripped it out of the door. So, costly but very capable.

follow instructions
great product or dog door, I had a little trouble installing it but it was my fault, once I figured out what eye was doing wrong it went smoothly, and so far the pups have not chewed it out yet.
