Q: This is going to sound dumb, but does it come out of the holder thing, or is it not a holder at all?

It comes with a sheath and the sheath has a slit where a belt can slip through. These are quality swords. We have had a lot of swords, this one is the most durable we have had. We used them for several duels in a Robin Hood production that our teens were involved in. They held up well!

Q: If I colored the sword and sheikh pink would it do for Rose Quartz sword??

I have no idea what Rose Quartz sword is. But given the plastic material I think it would be hard to color and have it keep it's color.
