This activated carbon filter is very excellent
It is cheap in price, exquisitely made and has a very good filtering effect. I think it is useful.

Dependable seller
I've purchased 2 or 3 canister filters from them. Last one had broken quartz tube and they replaced filter. Excellent response. I believe those who mention leaks may be due to 1. Placement of O ring. Happened to me and research and after learning no more leak. 2. Use silicone lubricant on O ring. Worth the couple bucks. 3. Keep area where top top sits onto bottom each time you clean free of sand, dirt. Very important for seal and for O ring. As for UV light. Get a separate UV light system. No canister filter does a good job with UV. The quartz tube gets dirty due to how all canisters are designed and you would need to remove and clean quartz tube every 3 months. Pain to remove it.

WORKS LIKE A DREAM!!
This filter works very well. With a 2500lPH pump it works well. Easy to clean with the rotary cleaning system.

Great for a small pond..I keep on buying them after I trash one!
Our fish pond is about 18 by 10 by 4 feet deep and we have it hooked up to 4000GPH pump. and this pump gives us little issue - this is the third one we've gotten over the years, not because they failed but because they got trashed somehow. Not too hard to set up once you get the hose adapters cut. I put an extra hose onto the cleaning outlet to squirt the water away from the pond, and you don't have to put a valve on it to keep the water from leaking out of the filter. This thing is made out of plastic so don't throw it around nor be a gorilla when you tighten the hose collars. The UV bulbs are easily gotten on Amazon; if they touch water at all when they're lit they will blow immediately and will blow your circuit every time you try to turn it on, so if you take the top off and water runs all over it, do yourself a favor and take the UV plate off and dry the chamber that the bulb sits in. Also, with my first one I thought I needed to coat the threads with thread sealant but it's not necessary and actually makes them harder to screw on. Try not to lose the plastic washers; you can get something similar at any plumbing department if you do. If you take the foam and plastic baffles apart to do a thorough cleaning, take a few pictures of the parts as you take them apart because it's like a puzzle and will only go back into the tank if assembled the correct way.

Bulb crumbled when trying to replace
This worked fine for a year, but when it came time to change the UV bulb. ... wow, I have never seen a worse design. Good luck changing the bulb if you buy one of these. The casing that holds the bulb in is extremely tight. These bulbs are usually just push-lock / pull-unlock, no twisting involved. But because it's SO tight, the base of my old bulb just crumbled as I pulled on it instead of releasing from the base.

good pond filter
I have 3 of these filters for my koi pond. They have done wonders for the water quality. One of the newest filters had an issue. The head clamp plastic split and the filter began to leak. So I bought a different filter like the mercury filter, It's good but I like the one I just bought. These filters are easy to install and maintain. I have one that's 4 years old that I replaced he sponge filters and UV bulb in and even that was easy!

Quality Koi Pond Filtration
The superior quality and design of this filter was evident when I removed it from the packaging. As I read the instructions and familiarized myself with the product, manual, features and their locations for proper installation and use, I knew it would provide better filtration than even the most expensive filters that I have previously purchased. It has numerous layers of filter pads, and bioballs, backwash option, and UV light with a sensor to prevent overheating The plastic shell is thicker to prevent warping and leakage. It has a lid that is easy to remove as well as an easy to turn dial for for backwashing in between full cleanings and prior to resuming water flow into the pond to remove waste that rises to the top after even briefly removing power.I built the pond and estimate it to be approx 3000 Gallons. Due to my last filter’s subpar performance and a minor shipping delay for this one, I lost 3 of my 14-18 inch Japanese butterfly koi that I have had for almost 8 years.Once I hooked up this filter and completed two 1/3 partial water replacements in two days the water clarity improved and I was able to identify appearance, symptoms, that it was bacterial infection, and then treat my 8 survivors. It has only been a few weeks since and the filter still exceeding my expectations and without cutting the pipes to increase water flow.Aside from the minor 1 day delivery delay, I am happy and considering buying a second one to use for my smaller waterfall. So far, I would definitely recommend.
