Perfect Fit
First, there are a lot of reviews mentioning sizing being all over the place, so I imagine it could have to do with where they were manufactured, what other brands of shoes you're going by for your size, etc. I typically wear 9.5 in Rockports, Sketchers and other shoes. I went ahead and ordered the 9.5 in these as a starting point. The 9.5 fit perfectly with a single pair of regular cotton socks, so I'm sticking with the first pair. If I was going to be wearing two pairs of socks or really thick winter socks, I could certainly have gone a half or full size up. But with the thick, comfortable liners, I honestly don't see that as necessary unless you live near the arctic, or plan to be out in seriously cold temperatures for extended periods.I haven't really worn them for long periods yet, so I can't really comment on durability or long term comfort, but I do love them so far. They are quite comfortable, warm and have good traction on the surfaces I've been on. They also look great, and seem to be well made. I will update if anything else comes up.

Classic design and solid construction
Bought these to replace some 30 year old Sorels that finally wore out. I used them in the snow around the vacation house for many years. Now living where there’s only a few snow days a year but still like the comfort and water resistance of the Sorels. The new ones are comfortable already and I think they may outlast me!

ankle deep in slush?
If you ever have found yourself ankle deep in cold, cold slush, you will appreciate how great these boots are. waterproof and warm, good griping sole. not casual wear and a bit heavy but that does not come close to out weighing its advantages. I was amazed that they are still true to size. Another plus, they appear to have enlarged the tab used to pull it on. These are my second pair, the first were 10 years old and i wore them out.

So, the thing is…
…these boots are DEFINITELY worth it. Under the right circumstances. Did I over do it with my preparation for my first Chicago winter? Yes, absolutely. Do I regret it??? Meh. Jury’s out.Did I buy a pair a smidge too big? Yup. Order a size smaller, they said. Nope, not gonna listen…is what I said. Well, people recommended to size down, I usually wear a 10.5 (average, across multiple brands) I’m a solid 10.5 by Red Wing standards, so I thought, “they can’t run THAT big…” and you know what? They do. Absolutely. Bought a 10 and I’m swimming in them, with one pair of socks. I’m torn on what a 9.5 would be like, a 9 would seem TOO daring, but…maybe?! Alas, I’ll never know.I wear my 10s with three socks, all athletic style, closest to my foot is a 100%cotton Nike sock, then a 100% cotton padded no-show/ankle, lastly a padded stay-dri sock…so, two padded, one regular…for a total of three but feels like 4…and my boots STILL have a bit of room…seriously. But, you know what? They’re comfy. Like, with the socks, it feels like walking on marshmallow clouds. And they’re warmAF, and oh-so grippy on snow and ice and concrete.I’ve worn them, they’re mine. Would I have TRIED a 9.5, sure, if you can, try both (full size down and ½ size down), my pockets don’t work like that, so I figured “Meh, what’s another pair of socks or two!?” I ordered them on a time crunch. Winter had come and I didn’t have time to ship them back and forth.I like them. They kinda look big, when I’m looking down at them, like I’m going skiing or boarding or something…but they’re snow boots, you know?I’m told they look v. nice, and not too huge (just kinda)I recommend these…but size down a full size

Great cold weather boots
Bought these boots for my grandson because I have a pair I bought forty years ago in Alaska and they are still in good shape even though I have worn them extensively. Yes, I take good care of them and have replaced the felt liners a couple of times. I highly recommend these boots for cold weather activities, particularly in snow or cold, wet weather conditions. Excellent for hunting even though they’re a little heavy.

Good boot order larger size if you need width
I originally thought these were way too narrow of a fit. After 1 year, the width is fine. They feel slightly narrow when new, however, they will stretch after a break-in period. My old Sorels (made in Canada, not Vietnam) were size 10 and wide enough for my EE width. This boot, size 11 did eventually stretch to width (normal for leather, however, they are slightly too long for me and there are no options on width. Product looks well-constructed, I hope it lasts 20+ years like the ones I still have and are still in good shape. They look like they should. I only bought a new pair because my old ones were steel toe/shank required for work and I wanted a lighter pair (without steel) for working around home. I'm disappointed in the "new" Sorels for size with no width option. The product looks well made, but be careful about size, especially if you have a wide foot or like to wear thick socks. I strongly recommend measuring your foot (trace it on a piece of paper and measure, subtract 1/2 cm for pencil outline) and use Amazon's sizing chart (a link on the page where you are shopping for the boots) to make sure it will be wide enough for you. 5 stars if width was an option on any model of Sorel. So...width is correct, but no option for EE or 4E or any wide sizes.

comfortable
Fits great, I expect to stretch a bit. Right out of the box they were snug, they loosened up as the day went on, they were soft to walk on and very lightweight which is unexpected for this boot. The sole is awesome in the snow, slush and on ice. laces up tight and the outer leather boot is very nice, thick and tough to boot, ha ha. I own many pairs of Sorel's for winter gear and I am pleased with this boot as a commuter boot. this is a real upgrade if you want to get away from the 64" pac boot which has the classic sole with squiggly tread, terrible in my opinion.

Order 1 size larger
Ive wanted these a long time.I wear size 10 but ordered 11. Glad I did.The fit seems like they are fairly narrow boot, but by ordering one size up they fit me perfectly even with heavy socks.I am in Canada and tired of cold feet.Examining them, very well made! Stitching etc.I like that the soles don't trap snow.I expected them to be much heavier, as I always by big galloomper Winter boots, but these are surprisingly light on my feet.Add to that they look great!Update my review after 1 Canadian winter :)

Great quality, snug fit.
Highly recommend for its quality. Fits snug, keeps feet dry and warm. Perfect for heavy snow days, but too bulky for regular day-to-day use.

BEST WINTER SHOE
If you live in a place where there’s lots of snow, possibly wet snow (spring) and really low temperatures, That’s a shoe for you. It will keep your foot warm and cozy, and just like a kid, you can enter any puddle without a tiniest worry that the water will get in.Good to keep in my, the shoe size is bigger than your regular size, so look at the table. The other thing is that they’re very warm, so once the snow hsd melted and the temperatures gone up, it might be time to change to something lighter.
