Awesome product if you are trying to vent a container for personal items!
Product is of the best quality. Instructions spot on. I used a 3" hole saw and then used a jig saw to connect the two holes. Measure 3 times and cut once. Adds lots of ventilation to container. Great product and I love its by a veteran!

Great ventillation for 40' Conex storage container
I recently purchased a used 40' Conex metal storage container that was in dire need of some ventillation since it was getting so hot inside it. After doing some searching I found these Con-Vents on Amazon. It was between purchasing these or the Big Air 45 Vents. I decided on these since the hole that needs cut in the metal is much smaller and these seem much more heavy duty and not as big as the other ones. They are made from galvanized sheet metal and the bug screen is also heavy duty and totally perforated. Stainless steel mounting bolts, nuts and washers are also included as well as great installtion instructions. I was going to cut the holes out of the Conex using a cutoff tool but decided to use a 2 1/2" hole saw with which I cut one hole at the top and one at the bottom of the needed hole and then used a sawzall to cut out the rest of the hole. Since I installed these by myself I had no way of tightening the nuts onto the bolts so I used 4 short tap screws to secure the vents onto the Conex after applying silicone. Then once I can get some help I will tighten down the bolts at a later time. Since this is a 40' container I installed two pairs of these vents, afterwhich I decided to order another set to install in the middle. You install one up high on one side of the Conex and then one low on the other shaded side. There is now sufficient air flow in the Conex to keep my contents in it from roasting to death! These are expensive but not as much as the Big Air and they are heavy duty and will not rust since they are galvanized metal. I highly recommend these Con-Vents to everyone else who needs some ventillation in their Conex containers.

great item, crappy screws
Super neat little vent easy to install, strong, nice galvanized cover and stainless screens underneath.Problem? yes. the screws (#1 phillips drive, stainless 10-24 x 1/2 " ) are not up to the task of screwing into the nylock aircraft nuts.i substituted hex drive button head stainless in the same thread and size and got a great tight result.phillips #1drive is ok for some things. not this. maybe #2 phillips, but the hex is far superior to either of those.please switch it out to that. add a little hex key to facilitate those who dont have the tool on hand.that is my only problem with these, and i think its a great product otherwise

Incredible Quality
I read other reviews stating how good these vents were. I would normally fabricate this type of thing myself, but being a little short on time, I decided to purchase mostly based on the rave reviews. I'm extremely impressed with the fit of these vents. They fit the contour of the corrugated container metal perfectly, and they were easy to install with the great instructions. I had done some prior research on where I should place these vents for best performance. I was further impressed that placement information was included with the kit and was pretty much spot on with the research I did. Being made in the USA was icing on the cake. Well worth the money!

Possible water leakage-(solutions) Good customer support and other Vent Options on direct website!
I am writing this review to help others that may encounter an issue with small amounts of water leaking through the vents. Overall the quality of the vents is excellent. I installed 6 vents on my 40' container, three on one side near the bottom and three on one side near the top. (note includes very good instructions for installation!) I did experience an issue with a small amount of water leakage through the vents installed near the top of the shipping container. I contacted the seller and he was very responsive and together we were able to find a solution. In most cases I do not believe there will be an issue with leakage, however, be aware that if installed near the top of the container and if there is a large amount of water running from the roof over the edge onto the vent surface there may be some water drawn into the vent corners of each bevel through capillary action. This was the case in my situation. The seller said he had not experienced this before, but it did happen in my case. The solution was simple- I just place a small silicone bead on the roof edge where it meets the side of the container to redirect the large amount of water flowing from the roof around the vent top. The top vents as well as the lower vents do not leak in normal situation where it is just the rain falling on the side of the walls, but please be aware that if a large amount of water is flowing over the vent from the roof it may be more than the vent can handle. Please note! The vents sold on amazon are NOT the only option available from the manufacturer, who happens to be a USA Veteran. Visit his site directly www.con-vents.com . They have vents that also attach to the inside corrugated wall as well as the flat doors. I ordered the vents that are recessed for my second container to be placed near the top which should alleviate the potential leaking problem from the roof because the excess water will just drip from the container roof lip instead of down the outside corrugated rib like I did with my first container. Summary- the outside mounted vents work great for most applications, but if any leaks from excess water near roof then just put small bead of silicone near edge of roof OR use the recessed vents which prevent the water from running directly down the surface. I hope this helps if anyone has or may have a similar experience.

Great product, fits perfectly.
Well made excellent product. They include everything for installation except the RTV. The instructions are well written and easy to follow. Drilling the holes is the hardest part. I used a 1" hole saw for the corners of the slots. I then cut the slots out using a tiger saw which cut easily.
