Works well
I painted my hubcaps with this about 6 months ago and it’s held up really well. I sanded them down to remove the old paint before painting them. It works in really thin layers so I ended up using one can for just two hubcaps. It gives a VERY matte finish, and if you wipe it with alcohol once it’s dry, it gives a satin finish. I ended up adding one coat of the rust oleum clear enamel spray paint on top to make it more glossy and match the other unpainted hubcaps. Would definitely buy again.

Worked well for me.
Product goes on almost clear, then dries to a somewhat metallic aluminum appearance. Seems to be a reasonable color match for Honda ATV wheels from the 1980's, and I'm sure other wheels as well. Didn't feel the can of paint went very far, used several cans for very small wheels I painted, but did give them several heavy coats.

Excellent for plastic silver /gray wheel covers aka hubcaps.
I really like this Auto High Performance Wheel Spray Paint, with one exception that it can run as wished it was a bit thicker. Also I recommend spraying 4 coats rather than 3 because it is thinner than expected. One can will do two 15 inch plastic wheel covers. If you have larger size wheel covers of 16 to 18 inch then will require two cans to do two wheel covers. (you'll use 1 1/2 can). Be sure each coat is completely dry prior to applying next coat as should take 2 hours for total of 4 coats. Bugs and water droplets while wet don't look pretty and may need to retouch those areas. If you have a car garage, raise the door and spray inside if you have problems with bugs or rainy weather. Be sure to spray with cardboard underneath your part and in a clear surrounding so the over spray will not get on an unwanted item. This paint is a little on the glossy side. No, it is not Chrome, more like a brighter silver tone. If you desire something better, I suggest you get a professional paint job or use a paint sprayer canister like pro's use. For the price and appearance, I'm happy. Use clear coat afterwards and when all dry, a coat of wax paste and polish it.

Exeptional!
I finally decided to give my 1976 Toyota Corolla Station Wagon a well deserved coat of paint, and of course I wanted to finish it off by painting the wheels. Let me tell you, the wheels on this car were BAD. I tried sanding them down, but seriously, they were pretty badly rusted, etc.So I ordered a couple of cans of Rustoleum 248927 High Performance Silver Wheel Spray Paint for the wheels, along with 8 cans of Rustoluem Hammered Copper Spray Paint for the body.Of course it's all about the prep work, and I was doing this while the wheels were on the car, so, I started by wiping down each wheel with mineral spirits, then I used aluminum foil to block any holes and cover the hub caps, and covered the tires with some masking paper and tape. The other reviews I read on Amazon mentioned getting good results using very light coats, so I followed their advice, and I certainly agree that that is the way to do this. The first coat doesn't even look like much, but it dries fast (10 minutes or less), and each successive coat really does look better. Finally, after about the 4th coat it started to look pretty good, and after 6 coats I felt I was done. Not bad, less than one can for 4 wheels. No problems with clogging etc.Honestly, I was amazed that this paint actually made these old wheels look so good. Just use light coats!By the way, I've attached a photo of the finished car, and if you're going to be tackling a big job like I did, I highly recommend you consider getting the Rustoleum Comfort Grip. It's a little plastic handle thingy that attaches to the top of the can and has a lever that you squeeze to activate the nozzle. It really is worth the small extra expense for how easy it makes spraying a lot of paint. Good luck.

Great paint.
Awesome paint. Used on scratched up Odyssey wheels that are used for winter snow tires. Run on oil and gravel from November until April. Color matched good - look as good as the day they were painted after 3 winters!

Color Match and Quality Issues
I recently purchased the Rust-Oleum High Performance Wheel Spray Paint in Matte Black with high hopes, but unfortunately, it didn't fully meet my expectations. The main issue was the color; it didn’t match as well as I had hoped, leaving a noticeable difference between my original finish and the touch-up areas. Additionally, when I received the can, it was leaking slightly, which was disappointing and messy. The paint itself seems durable enough, but with the color inconsistency and packaging issue, I can’t give it more than 3 stars. Would love to see better quality control on these details!
